Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon visited the Temple of Literature in Hanoi on the morning of February 27. This is an activity during Prime Minister Luxon's official visit to Vietnam from February 25-28.

In 1070, King Ly Thanh Tong built the Temple of Literature to worship Confucius and other sages. In 1076, King Ly Nhan Tong established the Imperial Academy next to the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam. In 1484, King Le Thanh Tong issued an edict to erect steles inscribed with the names of the Doctors to honor those who passed the highest exams at the Temple of Literature. The 82 doctoral steles have been recognized by UNESCO as a global documentary heritage.
The Prime Minister of New Zealand expressed his admiration for the civilization, culture, education, and tradition of studiousness of the Vietnamese people, in which the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam is a place to preserve and honor philosophy, preserve and uniquely demonstrate the outstanding values ​​of Vietnamese civilization.
Here, the two Prime Ministers had many activities such as watching calligraphy art together.

The two leaders enjoyed tea, chewed betel and listened to Quan Ho singing. UNESCO has recognized Bac Ninh Quan Ho as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
New Zealand Prime Minister also experienced playing the monochord, a traditional Vietnamese musical instrument.

New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon paid an official visit to Vietnam and attended the second ASEAN Future Forum from February 25-28 at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Vietnam and New Zealand established diplomatic relations on June 19, 1975, a Comprehensive Partnership in 2009, and upgraded to a Strategic Partnership in 2020. During Prime Minister Christopher Luxon's visit, the two countries upgraded their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
