On the afternoon of July 3, in Hanoi, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and encouraged the Vietnam women's national football team before the team set off to participate in the 2023 Women's World Cup finals taking place from July 20 to August 20 in Australia and New Zealand.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that the Party and State have guidelines, policies and strategies for national development in all areas, including the field of physical education and sports. The goal is to comprehensively develop people in accordance with the conditions and circumstances of the country in each period, with the viewpoint of taking people as the center, the subject, the goal, the driving force and the resource for national development. Even during the war, we still paid attention to the field of sports, sending teams to participate in international competitions.

Thanks to that, Vietnamese sports in general and high-performance sports in particular have been increasingly developing, achieving encouraging results. Most recently, we successfully organized the 31st SEA Games in all aspects in the context of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic and at the 32nd SEA Games held in Cambodia, we rose to the top of the medal table.

Expressing his joy and emotion at meeting the "diamond girls" and "diamond coaches" of Vietnamese sports again, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that winning the right to enter the final round this time is truly an outstanding achievement, an important milestone, bringing the Vietnamese women's football team into the list of 32 strongest teams in the world. Thereby, contributing to raising the position of Vietnamese sports, Vietnamese football in general, and Vietnamese women's football in particular. In the context of a developing country with a transitioning economy, Vietnamese women's football has risen to the same level as countries with better conditions.

The Prime Minister said he was very impressed with the confident, fierce fighting spirit and performance of the Vietnamese female players in the recent match against the German team, the second-ranked team in the world. The Prime Minister asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Football Federation to create the best conditions to help our "diamond girls" have the best health, physical condition and the most comfortable spirit before each match in the upcoming tournament.
The Prime Minister hopes that the players will be confident, play their best, have appropriate playing tactics, affirm their mettle, determination to fight and win, and "conquer the peak", but on the other hand, they will not put too much emphasis on achievements and pressure to achieve them.

Victory and achievement are important, but more important is the noble sportsmanship, overcoming and conquering oneself, meeting the expectations of fans, for the sake of the flag and colors of the Fatherland, leaving a beautiful image in the hearts of domestic fans and international friends, world audiences. The Party, State and relevant agencies will continue to pay attention, have appropriate mechanisms and policies for the field of physical education and sports in general and the women's football team in particular.
