“President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will host Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for an official visit to the United States, including a state dinner, on October 25, 2023,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said.
Meanwhile, the Australian Prime Minister's office affirmed that Mr. Albanese's visit is an important opportunity for the parties to discuss ambitious climate and clean energy transition goals, as well as towards a "strong, secure and prosperous" Indo-Pacific region.
During the visit, the two leaders are expected to discuss many important topics, including the AUKUS security agreement, climate change and essential minerals.
At the same time, the two sides will “highlight the deep and enduring alliance between the United States and Australia, as well as the shared commitment of both countries to policies supporting an open, stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.”
In addition, Mr. Albanese and Mr. Biden will also discuss measures to strengthen cooperation on important issues, thereby ensuring the US-Australia alliance is "well equipped to deal with increasingly serious regional and global challenges".
