In recent years, the “Young Creativity” Movement of the General Department of Defense Industry (GDDI) has been actively implemented, achieving outstanding results, specifically demonstrated by the increasing number of works participating in the Youth Creativity Award (TTST) in the Army and many works winning awards. To achieve the above results, the role of the “leader” of the group is very important, especially in setting an example, spreading passion, and promoting the movement to spread strongly.
At Factory Z114, Captain Duong Duy Son, Secretary of the Youth Union, is an example of a passionate spirit of research. During his work, through the positions of Assistant of the Technical Department, Assistant of the Electromechanical Department, Deputy Manager of the K56 Ammunition Workshop, Factory Z114, with the motto "Improving labor productivity and product quality is the key requirement", Duong Duy Son has many initiatives and technical improvements contributing to the completion of the unit's political tasks. In the period of 2019-2022, he directly chaired, participated in and was recognized by the scientific councils at all levels for 1 initiative and technical improvement at the General Department of Defense Industry level; 2 scientific research topics and 22 initiatives and technical improvements at the Factory level. In 2022, his initiative "Research, design, and manufacture of automatic depth measuring device for 7.62x25mm DS-K51T ammunition at Factory Z114" won First Prize in the 23rd Military Innovation Award.
Graduated from the Military Technical Academy with a major in mechanical engineering, Luong Tuan Anh took up a job at Factory Z129. After more than 6 years working for the unit, Senior Lieutenant Luong Tuan Anh (currently a member of the Standing Committee of the Youth Union, Assistant to the Technical Department) has always been dedicated to his profession, passionately searching for solutions and skills to complete work in a scientific and creative manner. With the professional task of monitoring production, ensuring technical work in a number of workshops, in charge of initiatives in the field of technical technology, and military scientific information work, in the period of 2016-2022, he presided over and participated in the implementation of 5 scientific and technological topics and tasks, with 9 technical initiatives and improvements.
Luong Tuan Anh shared: “Working at the leading unit of the General Department in manufacturing fuses, I focus on research, participating in leading topics to improve labor productivity and design new products, such as: "Research, survey, evaluate and implement solutions to improve the quality of fuses"; "Research to improve the detonation circuit of anti-aircraft artillery shells"; "Research, design and manufacture of fuse and bullet marking printing equipment". In 2022, he won the Second Prize of the 23rd Military TTST Award with the project "Research and implementation of solutions to improve the quality of CX37, CX57 anti-aircraft shell fuses". In addition, he was awarded the Certificate of Creative Labor by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of National Defense.

As a mechatronics engineer, Major Dinh Van Luong always adheres to the motto of ensuring the stability of the production line by improving labor productivity and work efficiency. Having been a Technical Assistant of the Mechatronics Department, Major Dinh Van Luong (currently the Manager of the Explosives Workshop, Secretary of the Youth Union of Factory Z195) understands every machine in his workshop.
The nitric acid production line is the key line of Factory Z195, aiming to proactively ensure an important raw material for the production of propellants and military explosives. Due to the technological characteristics, the entire distillation tower of the line is made of borosilicate technical glass. These parts are not available on the market, so replacements must be ordered from abroad, so the cost is expensive and the waiting time is long. Production progress cannot be guaranteed if there is a problem with cracking or breaking the glass chambers without replacement parts. The desire of many generations of engineers and technical staff of the Factory is to proactively manufacture and replace the glass tower chamber parts with another material to be ready to ensure the resumption of production in the shortest time, saving costs for the Army. Dinh Van Luong and the group of authors are determined to research to solve the above problem.
Through many studies and experiments with different materials and failures, the group of authors chose PTFE material with a breakthrough solution to process and shape the details, ensuring chemical durability, mechanical durability, mounting size tolerance, and the ability to assemble with details in the overall chain. The initiative of Major Dinh Van Luong and his colleagues has been applied in production, saving nearly 1 billion VND in costs compared to purchasing details directly from foreign companies. In 2022, the initiative was awarded the Third Prize of the 23rd Military TTST Award.
In 2022, the General Department of Defense Industry's youth had 42 projects participating in the 23rd Military Innovation Award, selected from more than 50 projects at the General Department level. All 42 projects were assessed to have high professional quality, bringing many economic benefits, especially improving the production line, contributing significantly to improving labor productivity in the unit; many initiatives were breakthroughs in production technology and new materials. In summary of the awards, the General Department had 23 winning projects, including 2 first prizes, 6 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 9 consolation prizes.
Among the authors of the General Department of Defense Industry participating in the 23rd Military TTST Award, there are 14 comrades who are union officials from the branch level and above. The union "leaders" with good expertise and pioneering participation in scientific research are shining examples that contribute to fostering awareness, arousing passion so that each union member and youth can enthusiastically create, excellently complete professional tasks, and actively build a strong and comprehensive unit.
