To date, nearly 200 defense units and enterprises from 27 countries, including ASEAN countries, Asia, Europe, and America, have registered to participate. The representative of the Organizing Committee said that the scale of the exhibition has increased significantly compared to 2022, affirming Vietnam's defense exhibition brand in the international arena.
The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is not only an opportunity to promote Vietnam's defense industry capabilities but also creates opportunities to promote multilateral defense cooperation. According to Colonel Dang Thanh Minh, this year's event is expected to attract a large number of high-ranking defense delegations, managers and international defense industry enterprises.
The exhibition will display combat vehicles, technological solutions, and modern weapons serving the Navy, Army, Air Defense - Air Force, and cyber warfare forces. Vietnamese products on display include weapons and equipment researched and manufactured by the General Department of Defense Industry, Air Defense - Air Force, Navy, Military Technical Academy, and other units.
In particular, Vietnam's weapons and technical equipment portfolio is expected to have many breakthroughs compared to the 2022 exhibition. Major General Le Quang Tuyen emphasized that the products are not only diverse in types but also meet modern standards, in line with development trends in the world.
In addition to the exhibition booths, the exhibition also has a "Vietnam Cultural Space" area and an area introducing "Achievements in building the People's Armed Forces and the National Defense". This is an opportunity for Vietnam to share with international friends the 80-year tradition of building and growing the Vietnam People's Army, and at the same time introduce outstanding results in digital transformation and defense economics.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition will feature impressive performances, including a welcome flyover by the Vietnam Air Force, and special forces and military dog performances by the Vietnam People's Army Border Guard.
The exhibition also opens up opportunities to promote bilateral and multilateral defense cooperation, as many international delegations have proposed to organize official meetings, defense policy dialogues and other professional activities with Vietnam within the framework of the event.
The exhibition is held in the context of Vietnam celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day. This is not only a key activity of the defense industry but also has the meaning of strengthening trust and promoting cooperation with international partners.
According to the Organizing Committee, up to now, 42 delegations have officially registered to come to Vietnam to attend the exhibition. With a large scale, comprehensive content and the participation of many international partners, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 promises to become an international event, affirming the role and position of Vietnam in the defense sector.
