Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam had a working session with key leaders of Factory Z183 under the General Department of Defense Industry.
On November 15, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defense, had a working session with key leaders of Factory Z183 under the General Department of Defense Industry. The meeting was attended by Major General Duong Van Yen, Deputy Director of the General Department of Defense Industry, along with representatives of leaders from agencies under the Ministry of National Defense and staff of Factory Z183.
Here, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam and the delegation listened to Colonel Vuong Chi Toai, Director of Factory Z183, report on the factory's operations in the first 10 months of 2024.
Specifically, Factory Z183 has focused on completing the task of manufacturing and repairing defense products, ensuring progress and quality. The unit also proactively cooperates with research institutes, academies, and schools in the Army to deploy scientific research topics, applying them to the production and repair of ammunition to serve the military.

In addition to defense products, Factory Z183 also focuses on manufacturing goods for the economic market. The factory is actively expanding its market, building its brand and developing high-value export products. Currently, the unit has researched, manufactured and put into production 15 fire prevention and firefighting products such as water hydrants, water valves, fire extinguishers, sprinklers, fire hose reels and 11 types of iron boxes for export, contributing to creating more jobs and increasing income for workers.
According to the report, by the end of October 2024, the production value of Factory Z183 reached 961 billion VND, revenue reached 950 billion VND and added value was 259 billion VND. The average income of workers at the factory reached over 17 million VND per person per month.
In the coming time, Factory Z183 aims to mobilize resources to invest in upgrading production lines, equipment and workshops, while strengthening scientific and technological research to improve production capacity and repair of defense products. In addition, the factory will promote the production of economic products for the domestic and export markets, with the goal of increasing revenue from economic production to an average of over 15% per year.
In his speech, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam praised the achievements that Factory Z183 has made in the past time. He emphasized that in the coming time, the factory needs to seriously implement Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW dated January 26, 2022 of the Politburo on promoting the development of the defense industry until 2030 and the following years. At the same time, the factory must continue to accelerate the progress of investment projects to improve the production capacity and repair of defense products with guaranteed quality.
The General also noted that Factory Z183 needs to focus on training and maintaining high-quality human resources, encouraging scientific research, promoting initiatives and technical improvements, and applying advanced technologies to production. In addition, the factory needs to actively coordinate with the locality where the unit is stationed to support community development and pay attention to building a clean and strong Party organization associated with the goal of building a comprehensive "model, typical" unit, ensuring absolute safety in all activities.
Regarding the recommendations and proposals of Factory Z183, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam assigned the functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense to coordinate with the General Department of Defense Industry and Factory Z183 to study and propose to the Head of the Ministry of National Defense to soon come up with appropriate support solutions, creating favorable conditions for the Factory to develop.
Previously, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam and the working delegation inspected a number of workshops and production lines of defense and economic products of Factory Z183 to grasp the actual situation at the unit.
