Lac Duong children compete to follow Uncle Ho's 5 teachings

Delegates of Uncle Ho's Good Children of Lac Duong district at the 18th Congress in 2025 participated in the journey to the "red address" of Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area

• SPREAD THE MOVEMENT

For each student of Tran Quoc Toan Primary School, Lac Duong town, Uncle Ho's first teaching "Love the Fatherland, love the people" is engraved in their minds and expressed through each practical action. Typically, in class 4D, students often visit families with revolutionary contributions with their teachers on War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27th every year, or the Vietnam People's Army Founding Day, December 22nd. Along with that, they come to clean the Monument to the district's heroic martyrs. In particular, class 4D has a piggy bank, and any student with spare change can put it in so that during Tet, the whole class can break the piggy bank to buy gifts and warm clothes for students in difficult circumstances. Student Hua Le Hoai An - Class 4D shared: “Through these activities, I understand more deeply the meaning of the tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source”, “Love others as you love yourself”. I will always remember and try to do many good deeds to show gratitude to those who sacrificed for the country. Through that, I feel more proud and love my country, love my compatriots as Uncle Ho taught the youth and children”.

Mr. Pham Duc Tuyen - Secretary of the District Youth Union, Chairman of the Lac Duong District Youth Union Council said: Currently, the district has 6 commune-level Youth Union Councils, 12 Youth Unions with a total of 6,858 members, teenagers and children. In the past two school years (2023 - 2025), the major programs of the Youth Union have been concretized by the Youth Unions through practical movements, associated with each theme, thematic work of the school year and historical events of the locality and the country, especially the Youth Union activities and the Movement "Lac Duong District Children compete to follow Uncle Ho's 5 teachings".

In particular, the propaganda and education of patriotism and national pride for children are carried out by the District Youth Union and the Youth Unions through activities based on the theme and theme "Every week a beautiful story, a shining example, a good book" associated with the implementation of the Movement "Speaking good words, doing good deeds". The Youth Unions also carry out the Movement "Repaying gratitude" to organize children to participate in decorating and taking care of trees in the grounds of the Memorial of heroic martyrs, visiting and giving gifts to families with meritorious services...

During the period of 2023 - 2025, children in the district participated in more than 50 activities to return to the source, go to "red addresses" and learn from experiences at military barracks; coordinated to organize more than 70 extracurricular activities. Along with that, Lac Duong children actively supported and demonstrated the spirit of "helping each other" of the nation through the "Small Plan" Movement of the Team with meaningful activities such as: Collecting scrap, scrap paper, beer cans, plastic waste... The Teams mobilized more than 20 tons of scrap, with the total amount collected to raise funds for "Lighting up the dreams of Vietnamese children" over 50 million VND and awarding 100 scholarships to poor children who overcome difficulties. The Teams also regularly organize fundraising activities, support cash, clothes, school supplies for children in difficult circumstances and support people affected by natural disasters.

• EDUCATION, CARE, NURTURE

Clearly identifying studying as the most important task, the Youth Unions in the district have built a positive and scientific learning environment, promoting the spirit of proactively overcoming difficulties, being ready to share and help friends to progress. In particular, launching the month of studying competition in many forms such as: registering for good lessons, good study sessions, good study weeks; launching the Movements "Quiz to learn", "Memorize and do homework before going to class", competing in studying, effectively implementing the Movements "Overcoming 5 points - over 7 points - achieving 10 points", "Flowing good points", "Nice notebooks and handwriting" competition, establishing "Pairs of friends progressing together"...

In recent times, children of Lac Duong district of all ages have united, made efforts and tried to carry out common activities of the Team and the children's movement. Implementing good discipline, complying with school and class rules and regulations and behaving civilly in public places; building a safe and healthy school environment. Following Uncle Ho's teaching "Maintaining good hygiene", Lac Duong children not only maintain personal hygiene but also actively maintain hygiene at school, at home, in public places and build many typical activities and models such as: Waste classification, exchanging recyclable waste, exchanging paintings for trees... At the same time, they regularly participate in Green Sunday activities, joining teachers, grandparents and parents in cleaning up the environment at school and at home, thereby contributing to protecting the environment, creating a green, clean and beautiful landscape. Following Uncle Ho's teachings of "Modesty, honesty, courage", Lac Duong children have always been humble, obedient, and polite to grandparents, teachers, and parents. They know how to respect the elderly, are friendly with friends, and have a progressive spirit to constantly improve in their studies and training. The District Youth Union also coordinates with the Education sector to organize activities to guide children to practice the motto "First learn manners, then learn knowledge", cultivating in children the virtues of modesty, politeness, and honesty.

The District Youth Union Council also focuses on directing the Youth Unions to organize movements and activities to ensure practicality and effectiveness with creative and appropriate ways, attracting team members and children to participate. Thereby, improving the quality of Team activities, training the team members and children of Lac Duong district to be confident, dynamic and creative".
