Vietnam's largest tea export market

According to data from the General Department of Customs, from the beginning of the year to July 15, Vietnam exported 68,736 tons of tea, an increase of 30% over the same period last year.

The average export price of tea reached 1,718 USD/ton, up 1.2% over the same period last year, contributing to the cumulative tea export turnover up to July 15 reaching 118.1 million USD, up 31% over the same period last year.

In the first half of 2024, Vietnam exported tea to 18 markets. Pakistan is Vietnam's largest tea export market with 16,072 tons, but compared to the same period last year, it recorded a 13% decrease in volume. This is also the only market with an export volume of over 10,000 tons of tea.

Taiwan (China) was the second largest tea export market with 6,762 tons, up 10% year-on-year. China was the third largest market with 6,304 tons, up 207% year-on-year in volume.

Other major markets include the US with 4,053 tons, up 62% year-on-year; Indonesia with 4,831 tons, up 69% year-on-year....

In ASEAN, in addition to Indonesia, Vietnam also exported tea to Malaysia with 2,862 tons, up 35% over the same period last year; the Philippines with 362 tons, down 26% over the same period last year.

In terms of turnover, tea export value to Pakistan was the highest at 33.6 million USD, down 3% over the same period last year; followed by Taiwan (China) with 11.3 million USD, up 14% over the same period last year.

At less than 10 million USD, tea exports to China reached 9.3 million USD, up 86% over the same period last year; Russia with 5.8 million USD, down 3% over the same period last year; the US with 5.7 million USD, up 83% over the same period last year; Indonesia with 5 million USD, up 86% over the same period last year....

In ASEAN, Vietnam exported tea to Malaysia with a revenue of 2 million USD, up 44% over the same period last year; to the Philippines with 0.9 million USD, down 25% over the same period last year.

In terms of price, Germany is the market with the highest average tea export price at 5,360 USD/ton, followed by the Philippines at 2,651 USD/ton, Saudi Arabia at 2,608 USD/ton...
