In 2007, Tan Son district was established under Resolution No. 61 dated April 9, 2007 of the Government on the basis of adjusting the administrative boundaries of Thanh Son district to establish Thanh Son district and Tan Son district. After 17 years of establishment, in order to conform to the overall planning of socio-economic development, the urban system of the whole country and the urbanization development trend of Phu Tho province, at the 8th Session - the 19th Provincial People's Council approved the proposal to establish Tan Phu town, responding to the legitimate aspirations of the Party Committee, government and people of Tan Phu commune in particular and Tan Son district in general...
The infrastructure system of Tan Phu commune is invested synchronously and modernly.
With the role of administrative, economic, cultural - social, defense and security center of Tan Son district, after 17 years of investment, construction and development, Tan Phu commune has now met all the conditions to become a town of the district. In recent years, the commune has always maintained a good economic growth rate; the economic structure has shifted towards gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture, increasing the value of small-scale industrial - service and commercial activities.
In the district, there is Tan Phu Industrial Park, which has initially attracted 3 enterprises to invest, creating jobs for 1,000 workers, contributing to the shift in labor structure towards increasing the proportion of non-agricultural workers. The production and service business model of individual households is quite developed. The whole commune has 5 households with tea processing machines, 15 households producing and processing wood, 58 households with trucks and passenger cars, over 350 individual business households, 12 construction worker groups, 7 carpentry groups...
Trade and service activities continue to develop, the market of goods is increasingly diverse and rich in types and designs; product quality is gradually improved, the supply is abundant, meeting the consumption needs of the people. In the commune, there are 3 banks operating, creating favorable conditions for people to borrow capital to invest in production and business development with a total outstanding debt by the end of 2023 of 255 billion VND. The vast majority of people use bank loans effectively; the bad debt ratio remains at a safe level, below 1%. The commune has formed sustainable agricultural production models through safe vegetable production programs, applying VietGAP standards; safe biological livestock farming..., linking production and product consumption...
Urban renovation and beautification projects are continuing to be invested in and constructed.
Economic and traffic infrastructure has been gradually invested in a synchronous and modern manner, especially some main roads through the district center, meeting urban traffic standards. The power supply to the urban area is relatively guaranteed, 100% of the population uses the national grid. Domestic water supply works ensure clean water for people to use, thereby limiting the spread of diseases through water sources.
Up to now, the rate of households using clean water and hygienic water has reached 99%. The information and communication system has been built and developed rapidly. National defense, security and social order and safety have been ensured. The material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved. Poverty reduction has been rapid and sustainable. The quality of the education and health systems has been increasingly improved, meeting the needs of the people... With the achieved results, in 2016 Tan Phu commune was recognized as a type V urban area. Over time, Tan Phu commune has been gradually transforming itself to become a bustling town in the future, worthy of being the political, economic, cultural and social center of Tan Son district.
Comrade Nguyen Xuan Toan - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tan Son district said: "The establishment of Tan Phu town will create momentum, environment and conditions for the socio-economic development of the locality in the direction of shifting the agricultural and rural economy into an urban economy with trade - service and industrial activities, creating many opportunities for investment enterprises, people have many job opportunities, increasing the district's budget revenue and people's income".
However, the establishment of Tan Phu town will also have certain difficulties. In the next phase, Tan Phu needs to continue to complete infrastructure works, urban renovation and improvement; review and evaluate the completion of projects, gradually socialize urban services, environmental sanitation work, and build the city in the direction of "green - clean - beautiful - civilized"; continue to complete the criteria so that in the near future the National Assembly will approve the project to recognize the town, meeting the legitimate aspirations of the Party Committee, the government and the ethnic people here.
