"Tap" to connect to the destination
Towards the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Nhan Dan Newspaper and technology partner Phygital Labs have installed nearly 200 free NFC chip panels at famous landmarks in more than 60 provinces and cities to create unique discovery experiences for visitors, supporting and promoting local tourism.
From Lung Cu Flagpole to Ca Mau Cape, with just one touch of an NFC-connected phone, visitors can open up a digital space with many integrated features. From checking in with the support of AI guides to explore information and history of the location to building a personalized tour itinerary or completing it to receive gifts and bonus points.
The website www.yeulamvietnam.vn is designed with a modern, easy-to-interact interface and is bilingual in Vietnamese and English, helping visitors easily access official information about the location.
According to Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh, the project aims to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the Liberation of the country. |
In addition, the online map helps visitors look up outstanding cultural destinations, track their journeys, and connect more deeply with each land. In the future, the platform will also integrate real-time tourism data analysis features to support destination management and optimize interactions. In addition to the benefits for visitors, the system also opens up the possibility of developing local services, commerce, and indigenous cultural data, thereby contributing to promoting sustainable tourism and digital economy.
After more than 4 months of implementation, there have been tens of thousands of successful check-ins and photo sharing by tourists at NFC chip-mounted panels across the country. From sacred sites such as Lung Cu flagpole in Ha Giang, Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi or Ca Mau cape - the southernmost point of the country, smart interactive stations have appeared.
The project “Love Vietnam” opens a digital tourism discovery community, where every citizen can become a “tourism ambassador” through activities such as receiving a digital certificate upon completing a discovery station in a province or city; accumulating points and redeeming attractive gifts from the program; sharing photos and clips of experiences on social networks with the hashtag #YeuLamVietNam; inviting international friends to join the journey to discover Vietnam through technology.
The “Love Vietnam” project is part of a larger vision, transforming digital media and data platforms into a means of connecting people with cultural and tourism values. “Love Vietnam” is not only an experiential journey but also a digital citizenship education tool, encouraging young people to understand, appreciate and continue traditional values with a technological mindset.
Unique tourism promotion direction to celebrate 50 years of national reunification
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said that around October 2024, Nhan Dan Newspaper had the idea of building the program "Love Vietnam" to contribute to promoting tourism in a unique way, towards the most important event in 2025, which is the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh shares about the project. |
With the support of local leaders and the efforts of Nhan Dan Newspaper's resident reporters, from December 2024 to present, the project has installed pillars at nearly 200 locations, with an average of 3 check-in points per province.
Along with the NFC boards, Nhan Dan Newspaper has also built the website "Love Vietnam" in many languages, targeting many readers. Although the website has not been officially announced, so far more than 12 thousand people have checked in. The special feature of the website and NFC board is that you only need to scan without installing an app, so visitors of all ages, even those who are not tech-savvy, can check in.
Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh emphasized that this is a major national tourism digitalization program. All personal information about those who visit these locations will not be disclosed, but survey data will be provided for local tourism managers to understand where local tourism is receiving attention and where it is not, so that appropriate investment can be made.
“We have strengths in communication and strong technology partners, so I believe that in the near future, with the excitement of the program, many people will check in at tourist destinations. We hope to have more businesses join us and expand the check-in network in each locality. At that time, the program will create great tourism effects, not only bringing short-term benefits but also long-term benefits to the tourism industry,” said Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh.
He also expressed his hope that not only local people and tourists will visit tourist destinations in the region, but also go and check-in at other locations to practically connect different provinces and regions. Such a connection through tourism is an effective way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification.
Mr. Huy Nguyen, General Director of Phygital Labs talks about the project. |
Mr. Huy Nguyen, General Director of Phygital Labs, said that Phygital Labs has participated in building multi-interactive experience projects in a number of locations such as: Hue Imperial City, Fansipan Lao Cai... However, it was not until cooperating with Nhan Dan Newspaper and implementing "Love Vietnam" that Phygital Labs had the opportunity to carry out a project of international stature.
“Recently, tourism trends have changed a lot. From traditional, conventional tourism, the tourism industry is now moving towards multi-interactive experiences. Especially young people, when coming to a place, they always want to immerse themselves in the local space and have their travel experiences personalized,” said Mr. Huy Nguyen.
According to Mr. Huy Nguyen, “Love Vietnam” is a tour guide, a host who can provide a lot of information, integrating Blockchain technology and artificial intelligence (AI). This information is not fixed but is updated over time because through AI, the application will learn all the knowledge, grasp the information of previous interactions, from there, provide personalized assessments and instructions.
The program "Love Vietnam" not only helps technology companies and Nhan Dan Newspaper deploy the campaign, but the locality can also participate in building information for "Love Vietnam".
“In the coming time, we will add more features so that these tour guides across Vietnam will become smarter and provide more valuable travel information across the country. This is an opportunity for everyone to join hands to build a nationwide campaign,” Mr. Huy added.
Talking about the project "Love Vietnam", Mr. Huy Nguyen, General Director of Phygital Labs, said that the project is a solution to the increasing demand for personalized travel experiences, seamless between real and digital spaces. "Love Vietnam" is based on a system of multi-interactive check-in stations installed in provinces and cities across Vietnam, building the first interactive map of tourism and culture in Vietnam.

This is a new technological solution implemented by the units, giving visitors the opportunity to enter a world where culture, history, and technology blend together, bringing a profound, unique, and interesting experience.
