Vietnamese contestant wins impressive award

(Dan Tri) - Vietnamese contestants won impressive awards and achievements at the final round of the 19th China-Singapore International Music Competition.


The final round of the 19th ZhongSin International Music Competition took place in Singapore with more than 1,000 contestants from 25 countries such as the US, Sweden, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Korea, China, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Russia, etc.

Representing the Vietnamese delegation attending the competition are 105 members who are excellent candidates from professional art schools across the country such as: Vietnam National Academy of Music, Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music and international schools, high schools...

Competing with thousands of contestants from more than 25 countries around the world, the Vietnamese delegation brought home impressive achievements: 29 First Prizes in the categories of Piano, Violin, Vocal, Drums, Guitar, Electric Guitar, Traditional Musical Instruments; 27 Second Prizes in the categories of Piano, Vocal, Traditional Musical Instruments; 6 Third Prizes in the categories of Piano and Violin.

What impressed the judges and international audiences at this competition were the traditional musical instrument performances by groups of contestants from Vietnam.

We can mention the Hunting Group (with contestants Pham Phuong Thanh, Dang Nhat Nguyen, Nguyen Huy Khanh, Nguyen Duc Minh, Nguyen Duc Nam) won second prize in the Traditional Musical Instruments competition in the amateur category.

On the stage of the competition, members of the Hunting Group with the T'rung - a traditional Vietnamese musical instrument, especially for the Gia Rai and Ba Na ethnic groups - brought an excellent performance.

The organizing committee of the competition also awarded certificates to 6 teachers and art schools with excellent training achievements, namely: Polaris Vietnam Education System; Mr. Hoang Phu Tung (Jazz Drum); Ms. Le Thanh Phuong (Traditional Musical Instruments); Ms. Do Thi Lam (Vocal Music); Mr. Pham Van Mao (Traditional Musical Instruments); Ms. Phan Thi Bich Van (Vocal Music); Ms. Vu Thi Thu Ha (Vocal Music).

Pianist Nguyen Le Thuyen Ha, President of the China - Singapore International Music Competition in Vietnam, shared: "The Vietnamese delegation participating in the final round of the China - Singapore International Music Competition in Singapore has many talented contestants in the categories such as: Piano, Violin, Drums, Vocals, Guitar, Jazz Drums, Traditional Musical Instruments...

In particular, the appearance of the Vietnamese national orchestra shining on the competition stage left a good impression in the eyes of the judges and international friends.

This year's competition also made a special mark with the performance of Le Anh Huy, the first Vietnamese contestant to perform on the Gala stage of the 19th China - Singapore International Music Competition at the largest theater in Asia, Star Theater with more than 5,000 seats.

Le Anh Huy's performance was among the three rare performances selected from more than 1,000 contestants from more than 25 participating countries. This is also the first time the Organizing Committee has selected a contestant to perform on the Gala stage in the past 19 years."

"We are proud to have discovered outstanding artistic talents in our country, creating opportunities for them to demonstrate their talents before the Arts Council, which are world-renowned music experts.

These achievements have affirmed the position of young Vietnamese musical talents in the international music arena. Whether professional or amateur, as long as we try our best, we will receive worthy results," said pianist Nguyen Le Thuyen Ha.

The ZhongSin International Music Competition is sponsored by the Singapore National Arts Management Association, the Chinese Musicians Association, the International Music Management Association... to build a bridge between art and professional performance stages for artists and contestants from all over the world.

The competition was established in 2006. It is the first music competition to obtain the ISO9001 international quality management system certification for "Establishment, implementation and management of Singapore cultural and artistic activities".

To date, this competition has become one of the most professional and comprehensive competitions in Singapore over the past 18 years with a large scale covering all musical instruments.

The preliminary round was held in many cities of Singapore and China. Contestants came from more than 20 countries such as: Vietnam, USA, Sweden, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Korea, China, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Russia, etc.

From 2023, Vietnam will be officially granted the right to organize the Vietnam regional round.
