On the evening of July 17, the ceremony to send off the Vietnamese sports delegation to the 2024 Paris Olympics took place in Hanoi. Shooting, archery, and weightlifting are the hopes of Vietnamese sports.

The 2024 Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11 in France. The Summer Olympics is the world's largest and most prestigious sporting event, held every four years. Attending the departure ceremony of the Vietnamese sports delegation were Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the French Ambassador to Vietnam and all athletes, coaches and experts of Vietnamese sports preparing to go to Paris.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism - said: "The Vietnamese sports delegation participated in this Olympics with the goal of achieving the best results, striving for medals to meet the expectations of sports fans nationwide.
At this moment, the 16 most outstanding faces of Vietnamese sports are ready. I wish the athletes confidence and flexibility to fully develop their abilities and strengths. Each medal that you win at this Olympics is a great honor. But the important thing is to compete to the best of your abilities, surpassing yourself at the highest level."

The Vietnamese sports delegation officially participated in the Paris Olympics with 39 members, including: 16 athletes, 16 coaches and experts in 11 sports, in addition to 2 doctors and officials. At the ceremony, units and brands presented a total of 1.3 billion VND in sponsorship, encouraging the spirit of the Vietnamese sports delegation before the Summer Olympics in Paris. Speaking on the sidelines of the departure ceremony, head of the delegation Dang Ha Viet - Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports - said: "The Olympics is the most prestigious arena on the planet, with competition from many strong sports in the world. The Vietnamese sports delegation strives to win medals at this Summer Olympics. Vietnamese athletes can approach the medal-winning achievements in archery, shooting and weightlifting. Currently, the Vietnamese sports delegation is preparing the best for the athletes to confidently compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics".

On the athletes' side, tennis player Nguyen Thuy Linh said that the whole delegation will head to the Olympics with a noble competitive spirit, trying to achieve the highest results for the flag and colors, bringing glory to the country. Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online, other athletes such as Do Thi Anh Nguyet, Le Quoc Phong (archery), Hoang Thi Tinh (judo), Le Duc Phat (badminton) all expressed great confidence before leaving for Paris. At the 2024 Olympics, archery will open the competition on July 25. Then on July 27 and 28, there will be badminton, judo, rowing, shooting, swimming, and boxing. The remaining competition schedule of the Vietnamese sports delegation includes: athletics (August 2), cycling (August 4), weightlifting (August 7) and canoeing (August 8).
