Scientists say a partial solar eclipse will occur on March 29, lasting four hours.
People in areas of the Northern Hemisphere can observe this phenomenon.
According to the Paris Observatory, a partial eclipse will occur from eastern Canada to northern Russia and will be visible in most of Europe, some areas in northeastern North America and northwestern Africa. The phenomenon will begin at 08:50 GMT and end at 12:43 GMT on March 29.
A solar eclipse is a rare astronomical event that occurs when the Sun, Moon, and Earth align and the Moon completely blocks the Sun. However, this time the Moon will block out up to 90% of the Sun at some northern latitudes.
The partial eclipse is expected to be fully visible in eastern Canada and Greenland at 10:47 GMT. In other areas, the phenomenon will be less dramatic.
This will be the first solar eclipse of 2025 and the 17th of this century. The world is expected to have the opportunity to witness a total solar eclipse next year, on August 12, 2026.
Iceland, northern Spain and parts of Portugal will be able to see the entire phenomenon, while other parts of Europe such as the UK, France and Italy will be able to see the Sun covered by more than 90%.
The last total solar eclipse occurred in North America in April 2024./.
