Quang Ninh youth are ready to set out on a mission to protect the Fatherland

Tomorrow, February 13, the 2025 Military Conscription Day will take place nationwide in general and in Quang Ninh province in particular. Inheriting the glorious tradition of generations of fathers and brothers and the tradition of the heroic mining homeland, the youth of Quang Ninh province are ready and eager to set out on their mission to protect the Fatherland.

Many volunteer applications for military service

In the whole Quang Ninh province, there are nearly 800 young people who have volunteered to join the army. They are young people who have graduated from university or college and have stable jobs with high salaries, are students... but are still willing to put aside their personal happiness to devote their youth to the Fatherland.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Political Commissar of Dong Trieu City Military Command, visited and presented gifts to the family of young man Nguyen Tien Hung (Duc Son area, Yen Duc ward, Dong Trieu city) who volunteered to join the army in 2025.

Pham Duc Anh (born in 2006, group 5, zone 4, Mong Duong ward, Cam Pha city) is a first-year student at Ha Long University, has put his studies on hold, volunteered to join the army and has been selected for military service (NVQS). Pham Duc Anh feels very proud to be one of the students being trained and challenged in the military environment this spring.

Pham Duc Anh excitedly shared: “Since I was a child, I have loved the military environment, so I decided to put my studies aside and volunteer to join the army. The army will be the ideal school for me to continue to train, cultivate, strive and mature. I will strive to study, train and complete well the duties of a soldier as expected by my family and relatives before leaving for the army.”

Ready to go on duty to protect the Fatherland

In order to promptly encourage young people preparing to join the army, in recent days, departments, branches, organizations, Party committees and local authorities have carried out practical activities, such as: Meeting, visiting, encouraging, giving gifts, giving savings books to families, especially families of young people in difficult circumstances, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere, so that they can feel secure in training and contributing in the military environment.

Nguyen Tien Hung (Duc Son area, Yen Duc ward, Dong Trieu city) confided: "Although my family still faces many difficulties, as a young man in the new era, I feel that I have the responsibility to contribute to the task of building and protecting the Fatherland, so I volunteered to join the army. I am very happy and excited to be recruited for military service this time. I will try my best to study, train, and complete all assigned tasks well, worthy of being a son of the homeland of the Fourth Heroic War Zone".

Officers and soldiers of the Uong Bi City Military Command are actively preparing for the military handover ceremony taking place tomorrow morning, February 13.

Lieutenant Colonel Bui Cong Vien, Commander of the Dong Trieu City Military Command, said: Dong Trieu has nearly 90 young people who have volunteered to join the army. Up to this moment, all the work for the Army Day has been carefully prepared by the units and localities. All the young people are enthusiastic and excited, ready to wait for the day to leave to fulfill their sacred duty of protecting the Fatherland.

2025 is the first year that the health check-up for military service is carried out according to Circular No. 105/2023/TT-BQP dated December 6, 2023, stipulating health standards and health check-ups for subjects under the management of the Ministry of National Defense with many regulations on higher health standards. Citizens are given a general health check-up, after the clinical examination, they will be examined paraclinically with 7 of the most modern machines in the health sector such as: Ultrasound machine, Electrocardiograph, X-ray machine, Hematology testing machine, Biochemistry testing machine... Therefore, the quality of citizen health this year is stricter and more effective, whoever is recruited is sure. The whole province has 7,298 citizens called for military service health check-up.

Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions, the quality of young people joining the army in 2025 in Quang Ninh province is higher than the previous year in all three criteria: Health, cultural level, and political quality. Of which, young people with type 1 and type 2 health reached nearly 60%; high school level is nearly 80%, university and college level is nearly 11%. Before the enlistment date, localities in the province organized Party awareness training classes for 818 young people who passed the military service, thereby helping them have more motivation and determination to complete their tasks excellently.

Colonel Khuc Thanh Du, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council, said: The Provincial Military Command directed the Military Commands of districts, towns and cities to closely coordinate with departments, branches, organizations and military service units to advise local Party committees and authorities to do a good job of preparing and organizing solemn, economical and proper military service handover ceremonies, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects; at the same time, implementing the Army's rear policy well. Young people preparing to join the army are all aware of their responsibilities and determined to complete all tasks excellently.

Up to this point, all preparations for the military handover ceremony tomorrow (February 13) have been and are being carried out by localities in the province according to plan. Today, the young men of Dat Mo homeland are following in the footsteps of their fathers and brothers to uphold the tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, ready to set out to fulfill their sacred duty to the Fatherland.
