On April 9, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to boost energy production by requiring many relevant agencies to automatically cut "outdated regulations."
This is the latest move in a series of efforts by the Trump administration to increase domestic energy production, loosen government policies and restructure the US energy picture.
Under the order, 10 agencies and their affiliates are required to extend by one year the current energy regulations, which are set to take effect no later than September 30, 2026.
The decree also stipulates that all new regulations must have a five-year term, except for the regulation on streamlining management activities.
The White House announcement affirmed that the decree will ensure that US energy regulations are constantly reviewed and updated to keep up with modern technology and needs./.
