On January 17, the Vietnamese Embassy in Pakistan organized the program "Community Tet - Homeland Spring" to welcome the Spring of At Ty 2025.
The program took place in a warm atmosphere with the participation of more than 100 guests who are Vietnamese people living and working in the area; ambassadors, ASEAN high commissioners in Islamabad; former Pakistani ambassadors to Vietnam and many leaders of chambers of commerce and industry, and businessmen of the host country.
Before that, all officials and employees of the Embassy and representatives of overseas Vietnamese held an incense offering ceremony to respectfully commemorate President Ho Chi Minh.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that this is a rare occasion of the year for everyone to meet, to turn to their families, their homeland, their country and to wish a happy new year of At Ty to every Vietnamese person working, studying and working in Pakistan.
Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan hopes that the Vietnamese community in Pakistan will continue to closely accompany the Embassy to carry out comprehensive activities in 2025 - a year expected to have strong development in all aspects for Pakistan; at the same time, he believes that the community will continue to unite and help each other in life and work, to integrate sustainably with the host country, comply with the law, preserve national cultural identity to enhance the image and position of Vietnamese people in Pakistan, and always look towards the homeland.
Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan said that Vietnam-Pakistan relations continue to grow strongly. Economic and trade exchanges between the two countries in 2024 will develop remarkably, becoming increasingly deeper and more effective. Two-way trade will reach over 800 million USD, an increase of more than 21% compared to 2023.
In October 2024, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh had an important meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehba Sharif in Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the 8th Asia Future Investment Initiative. During the meeting, the two Prime Ministers affirmed their determination to strive to increase two-way trade turnover to over 1 billion USD in the coming time. The two Prime Ministers also agreed to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level visits, and increase the number of tourists visiting to contribute to further strengthening the relationship between the leaders and people of the two countries in all fields.
According to Mr. Tuan, to achieve those goals, in 2025, the Vietnamese Embassy in Pakistan has planned to organize many activities to promote politics, economy, and culture and hopes to receive active participation from the community.
“The Vietnamese Embassy in Pakistan will always be a common home, a solid bridge accompanying the community in all activities to build an increasingly close-knit and developing Vietnamese community in Pakistan,” Ambassador Pham Anh Tuan affirmed.
The event took place in the warm atmosphere of the traditional Vietnamese New Year. The guests enjoyed many traditional national dishes such as banh chung, pho, nem ran... prepared by the officials and wives of the Embassy. Vietnamese cuisine received high praise and won the hearts of the guests.
