Ms. HH (residing in Ha Tinh), an employee of a Korean-owned company, said that she received a bonus of 1.1 million VND from the company on the Mid-Autumn Festival. Of this, 400,000 VND was a gift from the union and 700,000 VND was a bonus from the company in lieu of moon cakes.
“I was very surprised because compared to the general level, the company where I work has a fairly high bonus. In addition to the Mid-Autumn Festival, Hung Kings' death anniversary, April 30, May 1, September 2, the company still gives bonuses to employees,” Ms. H. shared.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Le Thanh (living in Hanoi), an employee at a real estate company, said that this year's Mid-Autumn Festival she received a bonus of 1 month's salary, a moon cake worth 500,000 VND and 1 day off with full pay.
“This has been the company’s policy since the beginning, so employees get bonuses every time. At first, I was surprised because I didn’t think the company would give such a big bonus,” said Ms. Thanh.
Ms. Phuong Thao, an employee of a company in Bac Ninh province, said that her company has given her a leave of absence with full pay for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival. Notably, any employee who voluntarily works on this day will receive 150% of the salary for that day.

“In addition to the Mid-Autumn Festival, employees also have 2 days off for summer, Buddha’s Birthday, and Christmas. If we count the holidays according to Vietnamese regulations, we get about 16-22 days off each year. Since graduating, this is the first time I have seen a company give employees so many days off.
According to the 2019 Labor Code, the Mid-Autumn Festival is not a public holiday and businesses are not required to give employees time off. However, the company still decided to give us a day off to have a full day for our families,” said Ms. Thao.
During the 2 years working at this company, Phuong Thao always felt happy and excited at work because the company had good benefits and cared about its employees. Previously, the girl said that the company had announced information about benefits in the recruitment post. This was also one of the factors that attracted Thao to apply for this company.
