A corner of Ha Tan commune (Ha Trung).
Like many localities in the district, currently, the majority of the working-age population in Ha Tan works in companies and enterprises. Directly participating in agricultural production in the locality are mainly middle-aged farmers and above. Therefore, accelerating the progress of introducing mechanization into the stages of agricultural production in the locality is especially important to the Party Committee and the communal government, because besides the purpose of reducing costs, improving productivity, quality and efficiency of crops, this is also a solution to meet the requirements of shifting the labor structure from agriculture to other industries and occupations.
As a locality with rich mineral resources (limestone, spirite, basalt), for many years, in Ha Tan commune, there have been many enterprises and establishments producing and processing construction materials to serve the construction of civil works in and outside the district. Enterprises operating in the field of stone mining and processing are currently creating jobs for hundreds of local workers with an average income of about 8 - 12 million VND/person/month. In addition, 50 establishments producing and trading essential goods to serve consumer needs such as: mechanics, wood processing, garment, agricultural processing and other industries and occupations are increasingly developing, creating stable income for nearly 200 local workers.
According to Secretary of the Party Committee of Ha Tan Commune Pham Thanh Binh, in recent years, the commune has always created the most favorable conditions for people to develop the economy, gradually improving and enhancing the quality of life. Along with the development of occupations, trade and services, agricultural production has always been identified by the commune as one of the key tasks contributing to stabilizing people's lives. Therefore, the commune actively propagates and mobilizes people to strongly shift the structure of varieties and seasons, apply science and technology in cultivation, livestock and aquaculture; build a production area of yellow sticky rice meeting VietGAP standards with an area of 12 hectares... to increase income value on the cultivated area. The activities of the agricultural service cooperative basically meet the needs of supplying seeds and fertilizers to the people, contributing to changing traditional farming practices and habits, protecting the environment, and protecting the health and safety of direct workers. The commune focuses on leading the promotion of sustainable livestock development, ensuring biosafety associated with economic efficiency; some farms and households invest in and apply combined production models, bringing in income of 300 - 500 million VND/year; 60 hectares of aquaculture area, yielding 341 tons (in 2025); maintaining a stable herd of more than 84,000 livestock and poultry...
Thanks to promoting the role of cadres, party members and people, exploiting the potential and strengths of the locality, it has created internal strength for Ha Tan to successfully implement socio-economic development goals and renew the face of the countryside. In 2024, the average income per capita of the commune reached 68 million VND/year, an increase of 61.9% compared to 2020 (ranked 9th in the district). Poverty reduction, vocational training and employment policies were deployed and implemented synchronously and effectively: the poverty rate decreased to 0.36%; the rate of employed workers reached over 90%; the number of trained employed workers accounted for 85%. In 2023, the commune was recognized as meeting the criteria of a food safety commune; in 2024, the commune was recognized as meeting the criteria of an advanced food safety commune...
Continuing to maintain and effectively implement the goal of increasing average income for people, Ha Tan commune focuses on synchronously implementing economic development solutions, which are: accelerating the progress of mechanization in agricultural production stages; encouraging the development of occupations, trade and services in rural areas, striving for an average income per capita of 72 million VND or more by 2030; the area of agricultural land accumulated and concentrated for large-scale agricultural production, applying high technology reaches 55 hectares; 98% of roads in the area are hardened. The rate of poor households decreases by an average of 0.5% annually; over 86.3% of families meet the standards of cultural families; 99.8% of households have access to clean water... Thereby contributing to improving the quality of life and building a new life in rural areas.
