After 10 years of implementation (2014 - 2024), the program "Tet Sum Vay" has become an annual event, a festival that many cadres, union members, and workers in Ha Tinh look forward to every time Tet comes and spring comes.
In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year 2024, 20 grassroots trade union units across the province simultaneously launched the program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Sharing" for union members and workers. Along with that, hundreds of "Tet Sum Vay" programs were also organized at the grassroots level.
Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Trung Dung celebrates "Tet Sum Vay" 2024 with union members and workers of Ha Tinh City.
The program not only brought a warm and friendly atmosphere but also presented thousands of valuable gifts to encourage workers after a year of hard work and effort. In particular, the participation of provincial leaders, leaders of departments, branches and organizations was also a great source of encouragement for workers.
This year, the family of Ms. Dao Thi Thuong (born in 1989 - a union member of the Center for Social Work - Vocational Education for the Disabled - under the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs) no longer has to celebrate the New Year in their old, cramped rented room. With the support of 50 million VND to build a union shelter from the provincial "Union Society" Fund, and additional borrowed money, they have built a new, spacious and cozy house. On the inauguration day, their family also welcomed a delegation of union officials and colleagues to share their joy and give them Tet gifts.

Receiving the support fund to build a union shelter at the "Tet Sum Vay" program organized by the Provincial Civil Servants' Union, Ms. Thuong could not hide her emotions: "Both my husband and I are disabled from birth, raising 3 young children and an elderly mother over 70 years old. After many years of marriage, the whole family still has to rent a house. Now, with the support of the union, we have a new house to live in. This year's Tet, my family is so full of joy!"
On the inauguration day of the new house, Ms. Thuong's family received union officials and colleagues who came to celebrate and gave them Tet gifts.
At the “Tet Sum Vay” program of the Provincial Economic Zones Trade Union, the sharing of Mr. Truong Van Huy (a member of the Formosa Ha Tinh Company Trade Union) made the attendees extremely emotional. Mr. Huy’s family situation is extremely difficult: the family is poor, his father has been sick and has been bedridden for many years; his brother has a serious illness.
Nearly a year ago, a serious traffic accident left Mr. Huy with a traumatic brain injury, broken arms and legs, multiple injuries, and on the verge of death. After much effort from doctors, his family, and financial support from unions at all levels, he was saved.
Workers enthusiastically participated in the lucky draw program.
The lucky and surprising thing was that in the lucky draw program, Mr. Huy won the special prize worth more than 7 million VND. On stage to receive the award and share his story, Mr. Huy could not hold back his tears. He shared: "Now participating in the program "Tet sum vay", I did not think I would be lucky to win such a valuable prize. During my treatment, the trade unions at all levels always cared and supported me, now I also receive this luck, it is really heartwarming".
In the program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Sharing" 2024 this year, the Provincial Federation of Labor presented 2,560 gifts worth nearly 1.6 billion VND, supported 48 "Union Shelters" worth nearly 1.5 billion VND; the direct superior trade union and the grassroots trade union presented tens of thousands of gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai and Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Van Danh presented financial support for building union shelters for union members of the Provincial Economic Zones Union.
In addition, 2,000 union members were able to buy goods for free on the e-commerce trading floor through the "Union Tet Market" program of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; many meaningful activities were organized such as: lucky draw, banh chung wrapping contest, "Zero-VND Fair", family meals, cultural exchanges...
After 10 years of implementation under the policy of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (2014 - 2024), the program "Tet Sum Vay" has truly become a major event that cadres, union members, and workers look forward to every time Tet comes and spring comes.
After 10 years of implementation, the program "Tet Sum Vay" has become the "brand" of the trade union organization.
From the provincial program selected to be organized at enterprises in the area with a large concentration of workers and laborers, it has now spread and been widely deployed at agencies, units and enterprises throughout the province; receiving the attention of Party committees, authorities, and financial support from enterprises, individuals and philanthropists.
Over the past 10 years, trade unions at all levels in the province have organized nearly 7,800 "Tet Sum Vay" programs with more than 443,000 participants. Nearly 90,000 gifts worth nearly 41 billion VND; 322 "Union Shelters" worth 8.6 billion VND; 7,625 free bus tickets to go home for Tet were given to union members and workers...
Along with “Workers’ Month”, “Tet Sum Vay” is considered a highlight and key activity of the year to practically care for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers, becoming the “brand” of the trade union organization. Not only bringing a warm and cozy Tet atmosphere, the program also shows timely concern and encouragement so that union members and workers can enjoy a warm and full Tet holiday; practically contributing to the effective implementation of social security work with Party committees and authorities at all levels.
