Xanh SM becomes the first pure electric taxi company from Vietnam to operate in Indonesia. Immediately after the opening ceremony, the service will go into operation to serve the increased travel demand during the New Year 2025.

All vehicles used in the service are VinFast Limogreen electric vehicles - zero emissions, zero noise, zero gasoline smell, providing a safe and environmentally friendly experience.

Thereby, SM Green electric taxi increases its competitiveness and attracts customers in the vibrant technology-based ride-hailing market in Indonesia.

SM Green representative said that customers in Jakarta use SM Green electric taxi service via mobile application, call center or at public parking lots.

At the same time, the airline is implementing a 30% discount promotion (up to IDR 50,000) for two flights per day, applicable from December 18 to 22, 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - General Director of GSM Global - said he saw great potential in Indonesia as the demand for green and smart mobility solutions is increasing.

Indonesia's Net Zero commitment by 2060 is fully aligned with GSM's mission to promote global electrification of transport.

According to Mr. Thanh, Xanh SM not only supports the transition to electric vehicles in Indonesia but also aims to improve service quality in the regional ride-hailing industry.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Riyatno - Deputy Minister in charge of investment environment development, Ministry of Investment and Downstream (BKPM) Indonesia - emphasized the importance of sustainable services, Green SM will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve air quality and create momentum for Indonesia to move closer to the goal of developing a green economy.

“This is just the beginning and I believe that Green SM will grow strongly, contributing to job creation and improving the quality of life for people,” said Dr. Riyatno.

Mr. Ta Van Thong - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Indonesia - expressed hope that the presence of Xanh SM will promote bilateral trade, especially when the target of reaching 18 billion USD in two-way trade is being aimed at by leaders.

He also hopes that many Vietnamese enterprises will follow in the footsteps of Xanh SM to invest and develop in Indonesia.
