Hanoi Metro with Green SM, VinBus, FGF, V-GREEN develop green transportation

(Dan Tri) - On February 19, Hanoi Metro signed a memorandum of understanding with companies in the green transport ecosystem including Xanh SM, VinBus, FGF and V-Green to jointly develop a pure electric public transport model.

With integration from all parties, a green mobility network will be connected and intelligent on a single application, bringing maximum convenience to users.

The cooperation between Hanoi Metro and companies in the VinFast electric vehicle ecosystem is part of a series of actions in response to the "For a Green Capital" campaign launched by the Hanoi People's Committee and Vingroup. The goal of the cooperation is to build a sustainable, convenient and environmentally friendly public transport network for the people.

According to the signed agreement, the parties will coordinate to deploy a "door-to-door" model, comprehensively connecting pure electric public transport, including the Hanoi Metro line, electric taxis, SM Green electric motorbikes and VinBus electric buses to bring a seamless smoke-free travel experience to passengers.

Specifically, the Metro ticket booking system and Xanh SM bus booking system will be integrated on the same VinBus platform, allowing people to easily plan their journeys with just one application. VinBus and Hanoi Metro will coordinate to connect to stations with high passenger traffic, while Xanh SM will have pick-up and drop-off locations at all Hanoi Metro stations, helping people conveniently choose the next pure electric form of transportation.

Along with the seamless journey, the parties will also cooperate to build a joint incentive program, helping Hanoi Metro passengers enjoy attractive promotions when using electric taxi booking services, Green SM electric motorbikes or VinBus electric buses.

Complementing the green mobility network is the flexible electric vehicle rental brand FGF. The company will cooperate with Hanoi Metro to study and propose pick-up and drop-off points at Metro stations, stops and headquarters, and provide many special incentives for passengers using the urban train service.

V-Green charging station development company will also coordinate research and propose charging station planning at Metro stations, helping to support the electrification of transportation in the capital.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Linh - Executive Director of Green SM Vietnam Market - said: "Public transport will only be truly effective when people feel convenient, fast and easy. That is also the common vision of the businesses sharing in this cooperation. We believe that with a comprehensive and synchronous public transport network, Hanoi will gradually transform into a dust-free, green and more civilized city".

According to Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Linh, the connection between Hanoi Metro, Xanh SM, VinBus, FGF and V-Green is a practical initiative, not only creating the first pure electric transport network in Vietnam but also improving the operational efficiency of public transport, while contributing to reducing emissions, improving air quality and promoting the movement trend "For a green capital" for all people.
