Strengthening the State Steering Committee for important national projects and key projects in the Transport sector

(PLVN) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed a Decision to complete the membership of the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works, key to the Transport sector (Steering Committee).

Accordingly, the Head of the Steering Committee is Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee include: Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha (Permanent Deputy Head); Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc; Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh.

Members of the Steering Committee include: Mr. Tran Van Son, Minister, Head of the Government Office; Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Lieutenant General Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Construction; Mr. Nguyen Tuong Van, Deputy Minister of Construction; Mr. Pham Minh Ha, Deputy Minister of Construction; Mr. Bui Xuan Dung, Deputy Minister of Construction; Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Deputy Minister of Construction; Mr. Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Minister of Finance; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Mr. Tran Quy Kien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Le Sy Bay, Deputy Inspector General of the Government; Mr. Dao Minh Tu, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Mr. Tran Minh Khuong, Deputy State Auditor General; Mr. Nguyen Sy Hiep, Deputy Head of the Government Office.

Members of the Steering Committee also include Chairmen of the People's Committees of the following provinces and cities: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hue, Da Nang, Can Tho, Ha Giang, Hoa Binh, Son La, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong, Binh Phuoc, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Long An, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Tien Giang, Vinh Long, Tay Ninh, Kien Giang, Ca Mau, An Giang, Soc Trang, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh.

This Decision takes effect from April 11, 2025.

According to Decision No. 884/QD-TTg, the Steering Committee is responsible for researching and proposing to the Government and the Prime Minister directions and solutions to resolve important, inter-sectoral issues to speed up the progress of the Projects.

In addition, assist the Government and the Prime Minister in directing, inspecting, coordinating and urging relevant ministries, branches and localities to carry out tasks on investment and construction of the above-mentioned projects in accordance with the Resolutions of the National Assembly and the Government on the Projects; assist the Government and the Prime Minister in directing the implementation of the Projects according to regulations; direct relevant ministries, branches and localities to carry out the following tasks:

Organize the implementation of the Project implementation plan according to assigned functions and tasks; closely and effectively coordinate in advising and proposing solutions and measures to implement the Projects; promptly report difficulties and problems beyond authority and propose solutions for the Government and Prime Minister to consider and decide.

Direct, inspect and urge project investors, consulting organizations and contractors to perform the tasks identified in the investment policies of the projects or the approval decisions of each component project to ensure construction progress and quality of the works.

The Steering Committee invites organizations and experts to advise in the process of directing, researching, and proposing directions and solutions to implement the Projects.
