BTO-This morning (May 24) in Ham Thuan Nam district, the provincial Agricultural Extension Center held a training conference on applying digital transformation in certifying dragon fruit according to VietGAP standards.
Attending were representatives of steering committees, advisory groups, and dragon fruit production cooperatives in Ham Thuan Nam district. The purpose is to carry out digital transformation, gradually moving towards the entire dragon fruit area being fully recorded.
At the conference, delegates were introduced to traceability software applications, traceability solutions, production, processing, distribution and sales through multiple channels with diverse payment methods. The provincial Agricultural Extension Center said that through training, cooperatives, businesses, and people producing dragon fruit in Ham Thuan Nam district will have a better understanding of digital transformation. From there, they will apply it to the production process to improve product quality and expand the output market for Binh Thuan dragon fruit in the coming time. In particular, it will contribute to promoting private investment in low-carbon agricultural production and climate change response, promoting production transformation towards increasing added value, being environmentally friendly, saving energy, saving water, using resources rationally and creating less emissions.
It is known that the whole province currently has about 26,500 hectares of dragon fruit, with an output of about 570,560 tons/year. Of which, 39.1% of the dragon fruit area meets GAP quality and equivalent, more than 10,000 hectares have been granted VietGAP certification, Ham Thuan Nam district alone accounts for nearly 7,000 hectares.
