These days, Quang Thanh vegetable village (Quang Dien district) - the largest vegetable granary in Hue city - is busy and bustling to prepare for the 2025 Tet vegetable crop. The lush green color of the leaves from the fields to the fields is a happy sign of a bumper Tet vegetable crop.

Quang Thanh is located in the lower reaches of the Bo River, with abundant alluvial deposits from the river every year to keep the trees and leaves always fresh, it is like a gift from nature bestowed on the largest clean vegetable granary in Hue.

To prepare for the Tet vegetable crop, from the end of November, Quang Thanh farmers are always present in the fields, busy preparing the land, plowing, sowing seeds, and taking care of the plants with the hope of a successful vegetable crop.

No longer producing for local needs, Quang Thanh green vegetables, especially in Thanh Trung village, have become the main supplier for the entire city of Hue and neighboring areas.

To ensure the criteria for clean vegetable production, farmers adhere to organic farming methods, limit the use of pesticides, and actively apply VietGAP processes...

The main types of commercial green vegetables grown in Quang Thanh are various types of cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower, amaranth, chrysanthemum greens, coriander, squash, pumpkin, luffa, celery, and herbs...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha (50 years old, Quang Thanh commune, Quang Dien district) said that each year her family supplies the market with about 3 tons of clean vegetables. Most of them are during the Lunar New Year. "Hopefully, with the favorable weather like now, along with the stable price of green vegetables in the market, my family will have a more complete Tet," Ms. Ha said excitedly.

In Thanh Trung village, every inch of land here can help people "make money" by growing clean vegetables. For example, in the case of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Thoi's household (50 years old), with only 500m2 of cultivated land, the family always has a stable source of income all year round, especially during Tet.

Ms. Thoi commented: “People have carefully prepared from land preparation, seed selection to care techniques, so the vegetables grow very well. In general, the green vegetables supplied to the Tet market this year are diverse, and are expected to yield outstanding yields due to favorable weather.”

Mr. Dao Phuoc Truong - Vice Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Quang Thanh Commune, informed that the whole commune specializes in growing 32.5 hectares of clean vegetables, with an average annual output of about 150 tons. Currently, each hectare of clean vegetables in Quang Thanh generates revenue of 650 - 700 million VND/year.

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tien - Vice Chairman of Quang Dien District People's Committee, near Tet, the prices of many types of vegetables remain stable and will likely continue to increase, so vegetable growers in the area are very happy. Farmers expect to have a successful Tet vegetable crop, with a good harvest and good prices, so that Tet in the countryside will be warmer and more prosperous.
