The above results were achieved thanks to the province focusing on directing the development of the energy industry, the highlight of which is to mobilize the maximum capacity of existing renewable energy projects by the end of 2024 with 57 projects/3,750MW, generating electricity output in the first quarter of about 2,214 million kWh, up 11.9%, creating a production value of VND 1,833 billion, up 9.16% over the same period. At the same time, actively recommending ministries and central branches to pay attention to and consider removing difficulties and obstacles related to supplementing the VIII Power Plan; recognizing the commercial operation date and FIT price; price mechanism for wind power, solar power, and pumped storage hydropower.
Regarding the processing and manufacturing industry, there was a breakthrough, with production value reaching VND2,158 billion, up 16.1% (the plan increased by 15-16%). The processing and manufacturing industry flourished thanks to a number of key industrial products that recovered and grew quite strongly, such as: Stuffed animals increased by 65.5%, frozen shrimp increased by 52.1%, wheat starch increased by 8.1%, garment increased by 20.8%, aloe vera increased by 47.4%. Along with that, the province focused on directing and organizing work to remove difficulties and obstacles to improve production capacity for enterprises, especially working with Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation to increase beer output from 47 million liters to 70 million liters/year, raising beer output in the first quarter to 13.5 million liters, up 80.3% over the same period.
On the other hand, the mining industry did not meet the plan, increasing only 4.71%, while the plan was to increase by 24-25%. The reason was that sea salt decreased by 25.3% compared to the same period, due to heavy rains from the end of 2024, lower temperatures than normal, the weather was not sunny continuously and there was a lot of wind. The electricity production and distribution industry increased by 9.16% (the plan was to increase by 15-16%) because in the first quarter, there were no new energy projects connected to the grid to create additional capacity for growth.
The province set a target of striving for industrial production value of VND4,837 billion in the second quarter of 2025, an increase of 21.63%. Specifically, the production value of the mining industry reached VND531 billion, an increase of 25.8%; the processing industry reached VND2,435 billion, an increase of 22.94%; the energy sector reached VND1,814 billion, an increase of 19.2%.
To achieve the target, the province has directed to focus on accelerating the progress of infrastructure projects in industrial parks, clusters, urban areas, and key projects to increase the demand for sand, filling stones, and construction materials. Maximizing salt production capacity in favorable weather, striving to reach about 100,000 tons of industrial salt output in the second quarter.
Continue to promote the removal of difficulties for food processing industries such as cashew nuts, seafood, canned water... through active solutions to support businesses in participating in international fairs and exhibitions on food and goods; organize conferences between banks and businesses to remove capital difficulties for businesses to improve technology, improve product quality to meet international standards.
Actively remove difficulties and obstacles in site clearance to speed up the progress of works and projects in the province to increase the demand for construction materials to boost market demand to increase the output of cement products, burnt bricks, unburnt bricks and granite. Focus on urging to speed up the construction progress to complete 4 industrial projects in industrial parks and clusters to come into operation in the second quarter to create added production value for the processing and manufacturing industry. Focus on supporting and removing difficulties to start 4 wind power projects/108MW that have been granted investment policies and organize investment calls for 6 wind power projects included in the Power Plan VIII to create new capacity in 2025.
