Speeding up on Quang Da bridge construction site

These days, engineers and workers of the joint venture contractor including Xuan Quang Construction Joint Stock Company (Xuan Truong District, Nam Dinh Province) and Binh Dinh Traffic Design Consulting Joint Stock Company (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province) are divided into 4 construction teams at the construction site of Quang Da Bridge project and the bridge approach road.

At the construction site on the south bank of the Yen River (in Dien Tien Commune), workers have cast one girder and are preparing to cast the second bridge girder; bridge pier M2 is rising high. On the north bank (in Hoa Khuong Commune), pier M1 has also reached a technical height almost equivalent to pier M2. In addition to the main bridge, the construction unit is busy making the approach road.

Engineer Than Duc Nghia - project manager of Xuan Quang Construction Joint Stock Company shared that the joint venture contractor is currently deploying more than 50 workers, 2 bored pile drilling machines, 3 specialized cranes, many rollers, graders, excavators, etc. on the construction site. Accordingly, one team specializes in bored pile drilling, one team is in charge of casting beams, one team is making piers and pillars, and the remaining team is digging and filling the approach road.

At this point, the two bridge piers are about 90% complete. The T1 pier base has been completed and the formwork and steel reinforcement are being installed to cast the pier body; the scaffolding system is installed on the T4 pier to prepare for the cap beam. At the riverbed location, workers are making the base of the T3 pier; drilling bored piles for the T2 pier. The contractor is striving to complete the lower part of the Quang Da bridge before this year's storm season.

Regarding the approach road to the bridge, the length of which is about 50m in Dien Tien commune, Dien Ban town has completed the land transfer, and later will construct the connection of the first section of Quang Da bridge to the northern belt road project of Quang Nam. The approach road in Hoa Khuong commune is 1.154km long, the beginning of the route is adjacent to National Highway 14B. Engineer Than Duc Nghia said that the approach road on the north bank from km0+400 to pier M1 has land.

In recent days, workers have been busy making horizontal drainage culverts, restoring irrigation ditches, digging and filling roadbeds... In the coming time, when the locality clears and hands over the site at any location of the first 400m section of the route, the contractor will immediately start construction to ensure project progress.

Quang Da Bridge and the approach road were approved by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City in Decision No. 1072, dated May 23, 2023, with a total investment of more than 274 billion VND. The investor is the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Agricultural Works and Rural Development in Da Nang. The investment goal is to connect transportation between Hoa Vang district and Dien Ban town, gradually completing the regional traffic network.

Quang Da Bridge and the connecting road connecting National Highway 14B in the north and the northern Quang Nam beltway in the south of Yen River will promote the socio-economic development of Hoa Vang and Dien Ban. At the same time, it plays a role in connecting an important foreign traffic axis between Quang Nam and Da Nang, spreading its impact to neighboring localities (such as Dai Loc district, Hoi An city...).

Quang Da Bridge and approach road project started construction on December 14, 2023; construction time 510 days. Grade IV plain road, design speed 60km/h; cross-section scale 4 lanes.

The width of the roadbed in Da Nang is 34m; of which the road surface is 14m wide (7m wide on each side), the reinforced shoulder width on each side is 0.5m, the dirt shoulder on each side is 5m wide, the median strip and safety strip are 9m wide.

The roadbed in Quang Nam is 27m wide; of which the road surface is 14m wide (7m wide on each side), the sidewalk on each side is 5m wide, the median strip and safety strip are 3m wide.

Quang Da Bridge is 204m long and 22m wide; the road surface over the bridge is 14m wide (7m wide on each side), the safety strip is 1m wide on each side, the median strip is 2m wide, and the railing and pedestrian lane are 2m wide on each side.
