Strengthening prevention and control of domestic violence nationwide

In order to implement the National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control, to implement the Law on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control in 2022 and Decision No. 363/QD-TTg dated March 8, 2016 of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Document No. 1513/BVHTTDL-VHCSGĐTV, accordingly, the National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control in 2025 will take place from June 1-30, with the communication theme "Ending violence, fostering love", to enhance the responsibility of agencies, organizations and people in the work of preventing and controlling domestic violence; mobilizing the combined strength of the political system and the whole society, promoting communication work to protect women, children and build happy families.

During this time, ministries, branches, central mass organizations and People's Committees of provinces and cities will organize response activities such as: launching ceremonies, rallies, conferences, seminars and reward programs for collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in preventing and combating domestic violence...

The prominent communication slogans of the Action Month include: Take action to build a family without violence; Preventing and combating domestic violence is the responsibility of the whole society; Happiness will shine in a family without violence... and many other strong messages, calling on each individual, family and community to join hands in action.

Also related to the issue of preventing domestic violence against children, after the press reported on the child abuse case at Thap Thien facility in Lam Dong province, the child abuse case in Quang Nam province, the Ministry of Health sent an official dispatch requesting the Department of Health of Quang Nam province to coordinate in handling the case and Document No. 2148/BYT-BMTE sent to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities requesting to strengthen the work of protecting children and preventing child abuse.

The Ministry of Health requests the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to focus on directing and implementing synchronously, drastically and effectively the tasks and solutions on child protection and prevention of child abuse, focusing on the following contents: strengthening communication work, raising awareness and responsibility of people, all levels and sectors in detecting, reporting and handling cases of violations of children's rights; instructing parents and those directly caring for children on knowledge and skills to protect children and prevent child abuse; strengthening education on knowledge and skills to protect children and prevent child abuse for children.

Continue to promote the National Child Protection Hotline (number 111) to encourage early detection, speaking up, reporting and denouncing acts of child abuse; organize inspections and examinations of all facilities that carry out child care and nurturing activities in the area (especially religious and belief facilities) to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Law on Children and the provisions of the Law on Children and related legal provisions...

The Ministry of Health also requested localities to promptly handle facilities that operate unregistered, spontaneously, without a license or do not ensure conditions for child care and nurturing according to the provisions of law and report the implementation results to the Ministry of Health before May 15, 2025.
