Many meaningful activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation and National Reunification Day

The 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day is a particularly important political event of national scale. The event is organized by the Party Central Committee, the National Assembly, the President, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Ho Chi Minh City.

The National Celebration Program will be held at 6:30 a.m. on April 30 on Le Duan Street, District 1 and some central streets of Ho Chi Minh City. The parade program, chaired by the Ministry of National Defense, will include: 4 parade blocks of the ceremonial block, 36 parade blocks, and 12 parade blocks. It is expected that there will be parade blocks of Laos and Cambodia in the Celebration.

Informing the press about the key activities in the Celebration, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said: On this occasion, from April 19-30, Ho Chi Minh City will simultaneously organize many activities rich in identity, in many cultural spaces serving the people such as: "Colors of Uncle Ho's City" Festival with the highlight being the 3D Mapping art performance at the front of the City People's Committee headquarters, combining light, sound and symphony-choir music; performing 2,000 unmanned aerial vehicles (Drones), combined with artistic fireworks to light up the city sky; Cinema exhibition "Echoes of the Great Victory of Spring 1975" with 300 precious documentary photos, screening community films at Nguyen Hue-Ngo Duc Ke stage; The special art program “National Reunification Day” was held and broadcast live nationwide at the Reunification Hall, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City on the evening of April 30…

In parallel, the City coordinated with central ministries and branches to organize the outdoor art program "The Country is Full of Joy" (April 20) at Thong Nhat Hall; the special concert program "Peace Symphony" (April 21 evening) at the City Theater; the national television bridge "Forever the Triumphal Song" (April 27) at the Ho Chi Minh City bridge point...

The highlight is the organization of activities to honor 3,100 delegates who are officers, soldiers, and those who directly participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign. The delegation will revisit ancient relics and tour newly inaugurated works of the City...

Providing more information about the international delegations attending the Anniversary, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said: This is not only an important event for Vietnam but also has great significance for international friends. The Anniversary was attended by 20 international delegations, more than 100 delegates representing organizations, peace movements, anti-war movements and international friends who supported Vietnam, more than 20 localities that have established sister cities with Ho Chi Minh City and many outstanding individuals who have contributed to the anti-war movement.

In particular, the ceremony will feature a parade of 120 outstanding overseas Vietnamese and more than 100 overseas Vietnamese delegates from 25 countries and territories attending this important event. On this occasion, the outstanding overseas Vietnamese delegation will join representatives of dignitaries, religions, and ethnic groups in the country to join the great solidarity train, visit the army and people of Truong Sa island district and DK1 platform; participate in the Conference of Vietnamese people using Vietnamese goods in Nha Trang city (Khanh Hoa); visit historical sites, pay tribute to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and those with meritorious services in Ho Chi Minh City...
