According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training's guidelines for admission to grade 10 of high school for the 2025-2026 school year, also on April 18, schools completed issuing codes and passwords to students.
From April 26 to 29, students can check the list of candidates at schools (where they study grade 9); independent students and students from other provinces can check the list at the place where they submitted their exam registration forms. Students should check all personal information, registration wishes, priority points, incentive points, etc.; if they find any errors, they should promptly ask for support and corrections.
No later than May 15, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will announce the "competition" ratio of each school; no later than May 24, students will receive the Exam Notification Form.
At 9am on June 6, students go to the exam site to study the exam regulations. The non-specialized public 10th grade exam will take place on June 7-8; on June 9, specialized candidates will take the exam.
It is expected that from July 4 to 7, the Department of Education and Training will announce the exam scores of candidates and the benchmark scores of each school. From July 4 to 10, receive appeals from students. From July 7 to 9, return the Result Notification Form to students.
The specific schedule for the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi is as follows:
Candidates taking the exam must take 3 exams including Math, Literature, and Foreign Language. Foreign Language includes English, Korean, Japanese, French, and German to enter specialized foreign language classes (Korean, Japanese, French, Chinese, Russian).
The Math and Literature exams are in the form of essays, with a duration of 120 minutes per exam. The Foreign Language exam is in the form of objective multiple-choice tests, with a duration of 60 minutes; there are multiple exam codes in one exam room, ensuring the following principles: 02 adjacent candidates do not have the same exam code; candidates take the exam on the Multiple-Choice Answer Sheet; the candidates' exam results on the Multiple-Choice Answer Sheet are graded by computer software.
Admission score (ADS) is the sole basis for admission, based on the results of 03 (three) exams in the subjects: Literature, Math, Foreign Language in the Admission Exam for grade 10 of non-specialized public high schools in the 2025-2026 school year and priority points and incentive points as follows:
DXT = Math test score + Literature test score + Foreign language test score + Priority points (if any) + Encouragement points (if any).
Admission principles for public high schools: Students who pass NV1 will not be considered for NV2 and NV3. Students who fail NV1 will be considered for NV2 but must have a DXT score at least 1.0 points higher than the school's NV1 admission standard. Students who fail NV1 and NV2 will be considered for NV3 but must have a DXT score at least 2.0 points higher than the school's NV1 admission standard. When lowering the admission standard, public high schools are allowed to admit students with NV2 and NV3 who meet the admission requirements.
