Strengthening international cooperation, developing Vietnam's Halal industry

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Viet Phuong chaired the conference at the Tuyen Quang province bridge.

The Halal industry is a collective of industries that cater to the needs of Muslim consumers such as Halal food and beverage, Halal pharmaceuticals, Halal cosmetics, fashion and art, Islamic digital economy, health and wellness, Muslim-friendly tourism, supply chain, Halal transportation and logistics, Islamic finance.

With the theme “Promoting internal strength, enhancing international cooperation to boost the development of Vietnam’s Halal industry”, Vietnam wishes to convey the message of “cooperation and development together” with Halal partners around the world to maximize Vietnam’s strengths and comparative advantages to make substantial contributions to the overall development of the global Halal industry.

Through the conference, delegates from several countries exchanged cooperation documents with Vietnam; delegates presented opportunities, potentials and proposed measures to support Vietnam in developing the Halal industry in a systematic and professional manner; helping Vietnam's Halal-standard products and services to deeply participate in the global Halal market, especially in key areas such as agriculture, tourism, textiles, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, etc.

In Tuyen Quang province, there are a number of products exported to the Halal market, including: Green tea, black tea. In addition to the products being exported, our province also has a number of products with export potential such as: Honey, grapefruit, tea, male papaya flowers soaked in honey, dried bananas, lemon syrup, kumquat syrup and melon. The main export markets are Afghanistan, Pakistan, the US, the Russian Federation, the Netherlands, Taiwan, Iran, Indonesia, Brazil, China, Malaysia, Canada, Japan, Korea, etc.

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the conference helps connect Vietnamese people and culture with the world; promote the development of Vietnam's Halal industry in a stronger, more comprehensive and professional manner. This is also a new business and investment opportunity in the Halal industry. Within the framework of international cooperation, it can be affirmed that the Halal market opens up many new cooperation opportunities across the world.

In that spirit, Vietnam wishes to develop Vietnam's Halal industry into a strong economic sector, an important link in global economic development cooperation. At the same time, it aims to develop Vietnam's Halal industry, although it is behind, but strives to keep up and surpass; strengthen negotiations and cooperation on Halal; call on international partners to invest and do business in Vietnam in Halal-related business fields; promote and advertise Vietnam's Halal products and build brands to participate in global values; people-to-people exchange, cooperation and exchange of culinary culture to connect peoples together, thereby enhancing sharing, cooperation and mutual assistance for mutual development...
