iPhone 15 launch event timing
The official date has not been announced yet as there is still a month left until the annual iPhone launch event, however users can expect it around the second week of September. In 2022, Apple introduced the iPhone 14 on September 7, earlier than usual. In 2021, it was September 14, and in 2020, it was later due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This year, the iPhone launch event may take place around September 12 or 13, as some sources claim it will be later than last year. At the end of August every year, Apple sends out invitations to partners, customers, and the media. Also on this occasion, the "bitten apple" often asks employees at Apple Stores not to take leave on a specific day in September.
This year's iPhone launch event could take place on September 13
This year, according to a revelation from 9to5Mac , several carriers have announced that employees will not be taking time off on September 13 because it is "related to an important announcement."
When does it take place?
Regardless of the day, one thing is almost certain: the iPhone launch event will take place at 10am (California time, US), which is the start of a new day in Vietnam. In the UK, it is 6pm, in Europe it is 7pm, in Singapore/China it is 1am... Each event usually lasts about an hour.
The product is expected to launch at the event next September.
The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will certainly be the center of attention at the event, alongside the two popular models, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus . In addition, users can expect new products to be launched on the same stage, including the Apple Watch Series 9 and Watch Ultra 2 smartwatches.
There is also a rumored next-generation iPad Mini and a long-rumored version of the AirPods Lite . Leaks also do not rule out a new Apple Earpods model equipped with a USB-C port instead of the traditional Lightning port version.
In addition to hardware, Apple also typically announces the official release dates for its devices' operating systems. This year, it will be iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and watchOS 10. In typical years, iOS and watchOS are released just a few days after the event, while iPadOS is released later. Upgraded versions of tvOS and software for the HomePod smart speaker may also be announced.
At the 2022 event, Apple launched products including iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 8, Watch SE (2nd generation), Watch Ultra, AirPods Pro (2nd generation).
The name of the iPhone 15 Pro Max has not been "finalized" yet because there are rumors that this year's most high-end product will be changed to the iPhone 15 Ultra. But it is almost certain that there will be 4 new iPhones launched next month and only the high-end duo will have new, special features.
In terms of screen, the iPhone 15 models still retain the same size as their predecessors, with two models featuring 6.1-inch screens and two larger 6.7-inch models. It is likely that the previous "rabbit ears" (the notch on the top of the screen) will be replaced by the "Compatibility Island" - a design that started appearing on the two iPhone 14 Pro versions last year. Another notable change is that the devices will be equipped with a USB-C connection port instead of Lightning.
Meanwhile, the new generation of smartwatches will not have any significant changes in design and size, only upgraded new processing chips, not excluding the possibility of being promised "better battery". Meanwhile, the iPad Mini will enter the 7th generation, possibly using Apple's A16 processing chip and upgrading the minimum capacity.
