Here are some takeaways from the US presidential election between Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump.
Differences in the origin of voters who conduct elections
Donald Trump's campaign has made a big effort to persuade black and Latino voters to abandon the Democratic Party. There are some early signs that those efforts are paying off.

That was most notable in North Carolina, where Donald Trump increased his black vote share from 5% in 2020 to 12%, the poll found. He attracted the support of 20% of black male voters.
But a potential problem for Trump in the state is that his support among white voters is 5 percentage points lower than in polls four years ago.
In Pennsylvania, Trump's support among white voters has dropped 3 percentage points since four years ago. According to a national poll by Edison Research, Trump's support among Latino voters has increased 18 percentage points since four years ago, a notable number in the election.
Overall, white voters are on track to make up a larger share of the electorate than they did four years ago. According to preliminary results from an Edison Research poll, 71 percent of voters nationwide are white, up 4 percentage points from the previous election.
Gender Gap in America Shown Through Elections
Democratic candidate Kamala Harris' campaign is exploiting the large gender divide in the electorate, hoping that more women will vote for the vice president on issues like abortion rights.
But so far, Trump appears to be holding on to the support of at least white female voters, according to polls. While black women overwhelmingly support Harris.
In Pennsylvania, Trump is maintaining roughly the same level of support among white women voters that he enjoyed in 2020. That's also true in Georgia.
On the other hand, in North Carolina, the number of white women voting for Donald Trump has dropped by 8% compared to 4 years ago.
In contrast, the Trump campaign has paid special attention to attracting male voters, especially young men, through social media, sports, podcasts and online games.
The poll also showed Trump slightly ahead of Harris among men aged 18 to 44 and outperforming men 45 and older.
