At a regular meeting at the Ho Chi Minh City Press Center on the afternoon of September 5, a representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports said that he had a working session with rapper B Ray (real name Tran Thien Thanh Bao) regarding sensitive and incorrect statements in the past.

At the meeting, B Ray presented the incident that occurred around 2015 and 2016 while he was abroad. Because he did not fully understand at that time, he made a distorted statement.

After returning to Vietnam, the male rapper was also invited by the agencies to work to discuss and clarify related content.

After being discussed with the authorities, B Ray realized that his previous statements were incorrect, offensive, and damaged his personal image in the eyes of the audience; and proactively deleted the content posted on his personal page.

"The Department of Culture and Sports has strictly reminded Mr. Bao (B Ray) to continue to enhance the artist's sense of responsibility towards the audience in performing activities as well as public behavior, comply with legal regulations and the Code of Conduct for artists to preserve the good image of the artist," the Department responded.

Based on the State management function of activities and information on cyberspace, the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City is currently coordinating with relevant agencies to continue reviewing and taking specific measures when detecting arising problems.

The male rapper has a large fan base.

In recent days, B Ray has been stirred up by his past scandals due to his inappropriate statements and actions. In a viral image, the male rapper showed off his arm with a tattoo of a map of Vietnam and shared: "The capital has moved to Saigon" . The male rapper also agreed to perform in a program containing sensitive elements.

A representative of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City said they were aware of the incident and would soon have a solution.

"The Department has grasped the contents as reported by the press. We are coordinating with relevant agencies to discuss and handle the matter and will inform the press soon," a Department representative told VietNamNet .

B Ray has just been announced as a coach in season 4 of the show Rap Viet . Many opinions say that this is not the right time for the male rapper to appear on television.

Amidst the noise, the male rapper also apologized on his personal page for his shallow and wrong thoughts and actions in the past.
