On the morning of September 30, Ha Long International Passenger Port welcomed the 5-star super yacht Costa Serena bringing about 3,500 tourists from Hong Kong, China to Quang Ninh.
The Costa Serena cruise ship arrives in Quang Ninh on the route Hong Kong – Ha Long – Hong Kong. Tourists have a day to visit Ha Long Bay, experience a city tour to explore the destinations, culture and cuisine of Quang Ninh. The ship will leave the port at 18:00 on the same day (September 30).
Costa Serena is one of the largest cruise ships of Costa Cruises (Italy), famous for its itineraries in Asia. This is the first cruise ship to bring tourists to Ha Long after storm No. 3, and is also the ship that kicks off the 2024-2025 cruise season (starting around October this year to April next year).
Mr. Pham Van Hiep, Director of Ha Long International Passenger Port said: "The excitement of international cruises with many new shipping lines right from the beginning of the season shows a positive sign for cruise tourism. In particular, after the severe impact of Typhoon Yagi, shipping lines still have confidence in the infrastructure and service quality of Quang Ninh tourism. Thereby, affirming the potential and brand of Quang Ninh tourism in the eyes of international partners".
Immediately after Typhoon Yagi, Ha Long International Passenger Port quickly overcame the consequences to ensure conditions to welcome tourists, including cruise tourists. It is expected that from now until the end of 2024, Ha Long International Passenger Port will welcome 16 large cruise ships from world-famous corporations and brands such as: Mein Schiff 6, Celebrity Solstice, Noordam, ... bringing thousands of international tourists from Europe, America and China to Ha Long.
It is known that in October and November, the Costa Serena will return to Ha Long 4 more times.
