On the afternoon of March 12, in Dong Xoai City, the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc Province organized the "EuroCham - Binh Phuoc Province 2024 Forum on Connecting Industrial, Commercial and High-Tech Agricultural Enterprises". This is one of the largest forums on investment attraction in the province to date, with the participation of nearly 360 domestic and international delegates.

Attending the forum were leaders of Binh Phuoc province; leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; representatives of ministries and branches; Mr. Gabor Fluit - Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham), and General Director of De Heus Group in Asia; Mr. Vu Manh Hung - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Digital Agriculture Association (VIDA), Chairman and General Director of Hung Nhon Group.

Notably, the forum was attended by Mr. Carsten Schittek, Minister Counselor, Head of the Trade Section of the European Union Delegation to Vietnam; Mr. Joseph John Gargadi, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Nigeria in Vietnam; Mr. Daniel Stork, Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Agustaviano Sofjan, Consul General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City; and 21 diplomatic delegations from Embassies, Consulates General and Business Associations to countries such as: Saudi Arabia, Australia, Portugal, Brunei, Canada, ... and 100 business leaders from EuroCham (European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam) attending to learn about the investment and business environment in Binh Phuoc.

The EuroCham Binh Phuoc Industrial, Commercial and High-Tech Agricultural Business Connection Forum 2024 is an opportunity for Binh Phuoc province to introduce and promote the image, potential, strengths, mechanisms and preferential policies of Binh Phuoc province, helping domestic and foreign investors access key projects, especially projects in industrial parks, industrial clusters, economic zones, and high-tech agricultural projects in the province.

Thereby, inviting domestic and foreign enterprises and investors, including prestigious EuroCham enterprises with financial and technological potential, to invest in the fields of industry, trade, high-tech agriculture, and digital agriculture in Binh Phuoc province.

Speaking at the forum, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien gave objective assessments of Binh Phuoc agriculture. The Deputy Minister congratulated Binh Phuoc province on its outstanding results in 2023.

“In the context of general difficulties, in recent years, Binh Phuoc province has achieved great achievements and has had a new and quite comprehensive development step in the fields of industry, agriculture and services with an average growth rate (GRDP) of 8.34%, exceeding the set plan of 8%, ranking first in the Southeast region and 11th in the country. In particular, agricultural production is stable, gradually developing towards high-tech application, large scale” - Mr. Phung Duc Tien said.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien also highly appreciated the significance and purpose of the forum. According to the Deputy Minister, EuroCham enterprises not only have technological strengths but also financial capacity and a potential consumer market for Vietnam's agricultural sector. Therefore, the presence of European enterprises not only helps Binh Phuoc change the face of agriculture in a sustainable direction but also contributes more positively to the socio-economic development.

Speaking at the forum, Chairman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee Tran Tue Hien said that Binh Phuoc has an area of ​​over 6,800km2 , about 110km from Ho Chi Minh City; fertile land, temperate climate is very favorable for growing long-term industrial crops such as rubber, cashew, pepper, fruit trees and developing livestock and poultry farming. Binh Phuoc is the capital of Vietnam in rubber and cashew trees, with a rubber area of ​​about 243,000ha and a cashew area of ​​about 150,000ha. In addition, the province has abundant clean land to develop industrial, commercial, service, urban areas and high-tech agricultural projects.

Regarding traffic infrastructure, the province has a synchronously invested and gradually modernized traffic system. Currently, the province has key traffic routes such as National Highway 13, National Highway 14, and DT.741, which are convenient for inter-regional traffic connections, connecting with the Central Highlands provinces, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, and Cambodia through Hoa Lu International Border Gate.

It is expected that by the end of 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway and the North - South expressway in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section, will be completed, shortening the distance from Binh Phuoc to Ho Chi Minh City to about 70km and shortening travel time to seaports and airports, better serving the needs of travel and freight transport.

“Coming to Binh Phuoc province, investors will find a land that is changing in harmony with development and integration with the world; a friendly destination with safe and favorable investment opportunities. In particular, investors will enjoy the highest preferential policies on taxes, land rent exemption and reduction according to the regulations of the Vietnamese Government; support for connecting infrastructure to the project boundary; support for vocational training; support for businesses working in the field of information technology and being recognized, respected, and implementing international treaties on investment to which Vietnam is a member” – Chairman of Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Committee said.

At the forum, there were many presentations on issues related to FDI investment, green development, digital agriculture, etc. presented by experts from the European Union (EU), EuroCham, AusCham, De Heus Vietnam, Hung Nhon, Big Dutchman Vietnam.

The leaders of Binh Phuoc province acknowledged the comments and suggestions, accepted good ideas and valuable experiences in the development orientation of the locality, especially solutions to maximize and effectively exploit the potential advantages of the locality to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, especially in the field of high-tech agriculture.
