Khanh Hoa tourism wins big on Lunar New Year 2025

Kinhtedothi - From January 28 to February 2 (from December 29 to the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa welcomed 940,500 tourists, with revenue reaching over 1,356 billion VND.

On February 2, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Le Thanh said that the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday in 2025 is enough time for groups of families and friends to take spring trips to celebrate Tet, and is an opportunity for tourist destinations in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa to attract visitors.

"To ensure the best provision of services for tourists who are expected to increase during the Lunar New Year 2025, Khanh Hoa tourism industry has prepared resources to serve tourists" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh informed.

Accordingly, the total number of visitors to Khanh Hoa for sightseeing and relaxation from January 28 to February 2 reached 940,500, the average room occupancy rate of accommodation establishments was about 83.35%. Of which, the peak was mainly from the 2nd to the 5th day of Tet with room occupancy rate of over 80% at some hotels in the city center. Some hotels along Tran Phu Street were fully booked from the 2nd to the 5th day of Tet, 5-star resorts in the Northern Cam Ranh Peninsula Tourist Area (Bai Dai) reached an occupancy rate of over 90%.

The increase in the number of guests and visitors helped Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism achieve total revenue of more than VND 1,356 billion, an increase of more than 141% compared to 2024 (in 2024, revenue reached more than VND 959 billion).

The Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism said that in order to serve visitors during the Lunar New Year 2025, in addition to events organized by Khanh Hoa province and other localities, travel agencies, accommodation establishments and service providers in Khanh Hoa province have made the best preparations in terms of human resources, actively renovated and upgraded infrastructure, created beautiful landscapes and green spaces to best meet the needs of visitors.

Champa Island Nha Trang tourist area organizes many folk activities to serve tourists on the occasion of Lunar New Year At Ty.

Specifically, 4-5 star tourist accommodation establishments and tourist attractions have proactively decorated and focused on organizing events and programs "Gala Night to welcome New Year's Eve, wishing visitors a Happy New Year" including activities such as New Year buffet, lion dance to welcome the New Year, New Year's lucky money, calligraphy gifts, discounts on services, cuisine, folk games, lucky draw programs... to introduce to visitors the unique features imbued with Vietnamese cultural traditions.

In addition, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism has increased its staff to arrange 24/7 hotline operators to receive feedback from tourists and arrange staff at the Tourist Information Support Station on Tran Phu Street. The majority of common needs of tourists are to request information about areas, attractions, entertainment in Nha Trang, routes, foreign currency exchange points, etc.

In addition, the hotline of the Tourist Support Center has received a complaint from a tourist about the Banh Can restaurant at 7C To Hien Thanh street selling at high prices and charging extra fees during Tet. The center has forwarded it to relevant authorities to coordinate timely handling for the tourist.

 

According to information provided by Cam Ranh International Airport, from January 25 to February 2, there were approximately 1,159 flights taking off and landing at the airport, an increase of approximately 8% compared to the current flight week. Of which, there were 377 domestic takeoffs and landings, and 782 international takeoffs and landings, an increase of approximately 12% compared to the current flight week.
