On the evening of November 24, the People's Committee of Tra Tap commune (Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam) announced that a landslide had just occurred in the area, damaging Rang Chuoi school (in village 1, Tra Tap commune).

The incident occurred the same afternoon when a large amount of rock and soil from the positive slope behind Rang Chuoi school collapsed a large wall, then continued to flow into the classroom, damaging many desks, chairs, and school supplies of the students.

Fortunately, there were no people at the school at the time so there were no casualties.

It is known that Rang Chuoi school was inaugurated in September 2024 with a total construction cost of more than 1.4 billion VND.

The project has a total area of ​​nearly 200 square meters, solid walls, 2 classrooms, 1 dormitory, kitchen, toilet, playground, fence.

The new school has 35 kindergarten and primary school students, replacing a temporary school that had been degraded. Due to landslides, the authorities relocated students and teachers to the old school (made of wood) while waiting for a solid embankment to be built for the new school.

Heavy rain in recent days has also caused landslides at some points on roads in Nam Tra My district.
