Only a few days left until the 2025 AFC U17 Championship finals kick off in Saudi Arabia.
Viet Anh (right) is a mainstay of Vietnam U17 at the 2025 Asian U17 tournament.
Previously, the AFC homepage made predictions about the faces that could shine in this tournament.
Notably, among the names mentioned is defender Le Huy Viet Anh of Vietnam U17.
“Vietnam U17 had an impressive performance in the qualifying round, with significant contributions from defender Le Huy Viet Anh. This player not only played solidly in defense but also scored the equalizer in the 1-1 draw with Yemen U17,” AFC wrote.
Le Huy Viet Anh is known as a defender who plays very passionately, is not afraid of collisions and has quite an impressive mindset.
At this tournament, the star born in 2008 is an almost irreplaceable player in the defense of U17 Vietnam.
Besides Viet Anh, another Southeast Asian star, Silva Mexes (Thailand), was also mentioned by AFC.
Striker Silva Mexes is currently playing for the MU youth team (England) and was brought back to Vietnam by Madam Pang to play for the Thailand U17 team.
At the 2025 AFC U17 Championship, Vietnam U17 fell into a very difficult group with the presence of Japan U17, Australia U17 and UAE U17.
According to the schedule, U17 Vietnam will meet U17 Australia (April 4), U17 Japan (April 7) and UAE (April 10).
Teams in the same group will play one round to determine ranking points. The two teams with the best results will advance. At the same time, teams that pass the group stage will also get tickets to the U17 World Cup.
