According to the official dispatch sent by the Ministry of Planning and Investment to a number of units, Mr. Jensen Huang and senior leaders of Nvidia will have a working session at the National Innovation Center in Hoa Lac (Hanoi) on December 11. He will meet with leaders of a number of ministries, cities and high-tech zones in Vietnam, as well as a number of domestic technology corporations.

The meeting will focus on "cooperation between Nvidia and Vietnam to promote the semiconductor industry" and discuss the company's potential cooperation with domestic enterprises. Some Vietnamese semiconductor companies such as FPT and Viettel will also attend.

Previously, during a visit and working session with a number of technology corporations in Silicon Valley in September 2023, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh invited Mr. Huang to visit and work in Vietnam, with the hope that Nvidia would soon set up a manufacturing plant, using Vietnam as a base in the Southeast Asian region.

Nvidia CEO at that time assessed that Vietnam was undergoing huge changes. He also wanted to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in semiconductors, information technology and artificial intelligence, hoping that Vietnam could become a production base of this corporation.

Jensen Huang, co-founder of Nvidia, became a superstar in the semiconductor industry when his company's graphics chips became sought after. He was born in Taipei in 1963 and lived in Taiwan and Thailand. In 1973, his parents sent him to live with relatives in the United States. After graduating, he continued his studies and received a master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1992. He briefly worked at chip company LSI Logic and AMD.

In 1993, he and two friends Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem founded Nvidia with an initial capital of $40,000. In early 2022, the company announced the H100 - the world's most powerful GPU at the time - but analysts considered it a bad launch time, as businesses were looking to tighten spending and lay off staff. However, by the end of last year, ChatGPT created a global fever, making Nvidia's AI chip sought after. Nvidia's market capitalization from $400 billion in January reached $1,000 billion at the end of May.
