According to the Organizing Committee, this year's Festival program includes a series of activities: Fruit picking competition within 3 minutes, with the requirement of picking by hand, without shaking the tree, breaking branches, hitting the fruit or doing anything that affects the plum tree.
Next, the fruit eating competition from the plums that the teams have just picked, each team will choose 2 representatives to participate in the competition, with the requirement to show the attractiveness when eating the plums, not leaving too much flesh on the seeds.
Along with that, the teams also prepared a tray of gifts with the theme of Promoting the world's leading regional natural destinations, love for the homeland, building product brands, preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups... Especially the ceremony to honor 9 typical farming households, who have contributed to building the Moc Chau plum brand.
Within the framework of the festival, there were also traditional sports activities, folk games; displays, exhibitions, introductions of plums; national cuisine exhibition competitions; camping competitions... All of these created a truly exciting festival, bringing interesting, unforgettable experiences, and deep impressions in the hearts of visitors.
It is known that plum trees were introduced to Moc Chau district in the 1980s. After more than 30 years of development, plum trees have become a key product of this locality, helping many households effectively reduce poverty.
The district currently has more than 3,200 hectares of plums, of which about 2,400 hectares are being harvested. Moc Chau plum products are grown and cared for according to VietGAP processes, safe, sustainable and environmentally friendly organic production processes. The Moc Chau plum production area is located in the planning of safe fruit production areas in Son La province.
In order to bring the Moc Chau plum brand to the general public and tourists, in 2014, the Fruit Picking Festival was held for the first time and has become an annual cultural and tourism event.
In addition to Na Ka valley, visitors can also go to other places such as: Pa Phach village, Pa Khen sub-region, Farm area, the road to Ngu Dong Ban On or Mu Nau plum valley... to enjoy delicious fruit right in the garden, take check-in photos, and personally choose each plum as a gift after the trip.
Through the Fruit Picking Festival, it is an opportunity to introduce and promote Moc Chau plum products, honor plum growers; create opportunities for growers to exchange, learn, explore, and improve their knowledge and experience in growing and caring for plum trees. Promote communication and promotion of "Moc Chau - The world's leading regional natural destination" to the people of Moc Chau ethnic groups, domestic and international tourists.
In particular, to convey the message: Safe agricultural production, say no to herbicides and pesticides, contribute to the restoration and maintenance of sustainable natural ecosystems, protect the environment and human health.
