With the efforts of enterprises, cooperatives, producers, and the support of functional units, OCOP products in Can Loc (Ha Tinh) are gradually reaching out and expanding their markets.
Grade 1 crispy oranges of Tra Son Cooperative, Thuong Loc commune are currently priced at 150,000 VND/kg.
These days, orange growers of Tra Son Cooperative, Thuong Loc commune are taking advantage of the time to mobilize manpower to cut oranges for customers and traders.
The fact that the Cooperative's crispy oranges were re-recognized as 4-star OCOP products by the OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council of Can Loc district in the early days of 2024 has become a major event, creating motivation for members in production, expanding consumption markets and increasing income. Accordingly, in the days approaching the Lunar New Year, the price of crispy oranges of the Cooperative has increased significantly, from 70,000 VND/kg at the beginning of the season, to now the Cooperative's grade 1 oranges cost 150,000 VND/kg.
Thuong Loc crispy oranges are increasingly expanding in area.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoa - Director of Tra Son Cooperative said: "Determining that meeting OCOP standards is an opportunity for us to affirm our brand and improve our products, so since 2019, the Cooperative has built OCOP products and by early 2020 was recognized as meeting 4-star OCOP standards.
Up to now, after 3 years, we have continued to consolidate and maintain that brand. Currently, the Cooperative's crispy orange products are increasingly favored and welcomed by customers nationwide, this is also the motivation for us to plan to expand the Cooperative's crispy orange acreage in the near future."
Hoai Vo ham was also recognized as meeting OCOP standards in early 2024.
For over a month now, especially near Tet, Hoai Vo fermented pork roll and pork roll production facility in Phuc Loc village, Kim Song Truong commune has had to increase labor force and working hours to promptly supply products to customers.
Ms. Vo Thi Hoai - the owner of the facility shared: "On this occasion, the consumption has doubled compared to before, each day it is estimated that 400 kg of various types of meat are used to make ham, nem chua, pork roll, and beef roll. Thanks to that, in addition to improving the family's income, the facility has also created jobs for 7 workers with a significant income during Tet."
The fact that the products of the Hoai Vo Nem Chua and Gio Me production facility have built a brand, gained the trust and acceptance of customers is the result of the efforts of the owner in the production and business process. Starting from the days of struggling to find extra work to contribute to stabilizing her life, Ms. Hoai chose to produce Gio Me and Nem Chua to promote the advantage of available raw materials in her hometown.
The idea of building OCOP products to build trust with customers and create sustainable output for the products was also nurtured by Ms. Hoai from the start-up days. In early 2023, Hoai Vo's fermented pork roll product achieved 3-star OCOP standards and won the 3rd prize for "Women's Entrepreneurial Ideas" organized by the Ha Tinh Women's Union. In January 2024, Hoai Vo's pork roll product was also recognized as meeting 3-star OCOP standards.
Quoc Thach incense products in Quang Loc commune were recognized as 3-star OCOP in the first phase of 2024.
Along with crispy oranges, pork roll, sour sausage..., during the days before Tet, OCOP products in Can Loc district such as: Hanh Toan cu do (Nghen town), An An clean incense (Tung Loc commune), Quoc Thach agarwood (Quang Loc commune), Dong An nutritional seasoning powder and Dong An nutritional broth (My Loc commune)... also have more opportunities to expand the market and increase income.
In addition, the efforts of enterprises, cooperatives, and producers in recent times have supported OCOP products to keep up with the market and reach consumers, supported by Can Loc district, promoting and introducing products through many channels such as: e-commerce platforms, websites, social networks, linking OCOP products with tourist attractions, expanding product introduction and sales points.
Up to now, Can Loc has 23 products recognized as 3-star OCOP. In fact, OCOP products have made important contributions to implementing the criteria for rural economic development, improving people's lives in building advanced new rural areas, model new rural areas, affirming the prestige and brand of the OCOP program.
