VinBrain startup's product applies AI to serve more than 180 hospitals around the world

VinBrain Joint Stock Company, a pioneering technology startup developing artificial intelligence (AI) products for healthcare, invested by Vingroup, has just entered its 5th year of establishment and development with many outstanding achievements.

VinBrain is the only medical technology unit named in the top 10 typical collectives at "Vietnam Glory 2024".

By 2024, the company has had commercial contracts to conquer 5 markets including the United States, India, Myanmar, Australia and Vietnam. With the orientation of using advanced AI technology for medical applications, over the past 5 years, VinBrain has cooperated with hospitals to build a huge data set of up to 4.26 million images, diverse from Asian, European and American countries to train AI. This is an important foundation to help VinBrain create quality products and services with international standards.

DrAid, developed by VinBrain, can effectively support paraclinical diagnostic methods, with the ability to process many types of medical images, including X-rays, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). AI models automatically localize and detect up to 95 types of lesions and abnormalities in less than 30 seconds/case with sensitivity and accuracy of over 90%.

DrAid is developed in three strategic directions: Comprehensive screening group, detecting diseases in the lungs, heart, mediastinum, bones and spine through chest X-ray; Cancer diagnosis and treatment group including liver cancer and rectal cancer through CT and MRI; and group solving century-old diseases such as tuberculosis and congenital anemia (Thalassemia). Accordingly, DrAid Tuberculosis is the only software selected by the Global Fund to serve screening for 1 million Vietnamese people in the National Tuberculosis Control Program in 2024.

Mr. Truong Quoc Hung, founder and CEO of VinBrain shared: “From this result, compared to companies in the same industry in countries such as Korea, India or Israel, VinBrain has demonstrated its superiority with a growth rate at least 3-5 times faster”.

Currently, VinBrain and the DrAid platform are being deployed in 182 hospitals worldwide and in Vietnam, frontline hospitals such as: 108 Military Central Hospital, Hue Central Hospital, Central Lung Hospital, Hai Phong Lung Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital... serving more than 2,000 doctors and over 2 million patients.

In parallel, following the international standard AI construction model for healthcare with hardware using NVIDIA's DGX A100 supercomputer, in November 2023, the company launched in Chicago (USA) a breakthrough AI platform for healthcare data management DrAid Healthcare Data Management (Enterprise Data Solution). This is a software for storing, analyzing, searching and managing healthcare data, based on big data, generative AI technology and computer vision, a highlight in the journey to realize the vision of building a smart healthcare system.

To date, DrAid owns the most extensive AI models in Vietnam, not only supporting disease diagnosis through many popular types of medical images, but also serving the overall management of patient medical data, including past, present and future trend forecasts.

On May 19, 2024, VinBrain was the only medical technology company named in the top 10 typical groups at "Vietnam Glory 2024". The company is also the only representative of Vietnam to win the Gold Cup twice at the Southeast Asia (ASEAN) Digital Awards within 3 years for AI solutions in healthcare and won 3/3 Sao Khue Cups 2024 in its first participation. VinBrain is also one of the first Southeast Asian companies to successfully commercialize an AI platform in healthcare in the US, and has submitted the second FDA for the breakthrough product DrAid CT Liver Cancer to continue conquering this most demanding market.
