Samsung plans aggressively for advanced chip processes

SF2X processing technology, as well as SF2A processing technology, are expected to be used in automotive processors and will be put into mass production in 2027. SF2Z processing technology will be designed with a back-end power supply network to solve the signal power supply problem and is expected to be put into mass production in 2027.

SF4U is a design based on existing 4nm process technology, mainly improving process response through optical scaling, performance and area utilization. Samsung plans to mass produce this process technology in 2025.

In addition, Samsung also revealed that preparations for the next 1.4nm processing technology are going smoothly and are expected to enter mass production in 2027.

Speaking of competitors, TSMC is currently preparing to enter mass production of 2nm process technology in 2025. As for Intel, the company has also implemented a plan to upgrade 5 process technology nodes in the next 4 years from 2021. The current plan is to move to Intel 18A technology process in 2025 (corresponding to 1.8 nm process) and is expected to be used in the new generation of processor chips codenamed "Panther Lake".
