Rashford scored his first Premier League goal for Aston Villa.

Early morning of April 3, right at Brighton's Amex Stadium, coach Unai Emery's team had an impressive performance. Rashford scored in the 51st minute, paving the way for Villa's resounding 3-0 victory over their opponents who are also competing for a European Cup spot. Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery commented that Rashford is "improving day by day" in all aspects of his playing style.

“The most important thing is his feeling for the ball,” Emery said of Rashford. “The way he is regaining his confidence on the ball, focusing on his football, feeling comfortable with his teammates, understanding and adapting to our style and our requirements. Everything is getting better for him.”

This was also Rashford's first Premier League goal for Aston Villa. Before that, the player on loan from Manchester United also shone in the FA Cup and Champions League. However, the performance in the Premier League marked a strong revival for Rashford.

Aston Villa counter-attacked from a corner, putting the England striker in a comfortable position. He sprinted and fired past Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. Substitutes Marco Asensio and Donyell Malen then scored the winner, helping Aston Villa leapfrog Brighton into seventh place in the table.

When asked whether Rashford would remain at Villa Park next season, Emery refused to give a clear answer, saying it would depend on whether the team qualified for European competition.

“It’s not the time to talk about that,” Emery said. “The decision [to sign Rashford] will be different depending on whether we play in the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League or not in Europe. At the moment he is playing well. He came here because he wanted to join us, to regain his confidence, to feel comfortable and to help the team.”
