TPO - According to Tien Phong reporters, along both sides of the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway, from Than Cuu Nghia commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang to An Thanh commune, Ben Luc district, Long An province, about 30km long, there are many types of waste such as plastic bottles, tissues, packaging, tires, scrap metal, etc. This situation causes unsightliness and even safety when plastic bottles are blown by the wind onto the expressway lane.

Despite the no littering sign, litter is still littered.

According to Mr. Huynh Chi Dung (62 years old, Nhi Thanh commune, Thu Thua district), the wastewater flowing through the sewer into Bau Trang canal is black and polluted. "Since the water has been polluted, rice production has been greatly affected, rice has not bloomed evenly, and productivity has decreased by about 20% compared to before. We have complained to the local authorities many times but were told that the highway is managed by the ministry, so we have to accept it," said Mr. Dung.

On both sides of the road leading to Chau Thanh rest stop at km27 in Nhi Thanh commune, Thu Thua district, Long An province, from Ho Chi Minh City to the West and vice versa, garbage is piled up, from the edge of the highway guardrail to the residential road.

On February 26, people collected and burned garbage along the Ho Chi Minh City-Trung Luong Expressway corridor, km26 and km32 through Thu Thua district. The fire spread, black smoke rose high, threatening traffic safety on the expressway.

In some sections, people take advantage of the space under the highway overpass to throw trash, store things... very messy.

According to Highway Traffic Police Patrol Team No. 7 under Department 8 (Traffic Police Department, Ministry of Public Security), most of the garbage in the area outside Chau Thanh gas station, the section leading to the highway, is dumped by people at night, making it difficult for the forces on duty on the highway to detect and handle.

Sharing with the press, Mr. Dinh Van Sau, Secretary of Thu Thua District Party Committee, said that the garbage in the Chau Thanh gas station area is cleaned by this unit every day, then brought to the centralized garbage treatment area in Thanh Hoa district, Long An.

Outside the station area, the Thu Thua District Urban Construction Company will organize garbage collection and treatment. However, littering still occurs, causing environmental pollution, making many people upset.
