At the 2024 Southeast Asian U.19 tournament, the draw of luck put the U.19 Vietnam team in a rather difficult group B with U.19 Myanmar, U.19 Australia and U.19 Laos. Coach Hua Hien Vinh and his team will play their opening match against U.19 Myanmar at 7:30 p.m. today (July 18). This match will take place at Gelora 10 November Stadium, in Surabaya City - Indonesia.

U.19 Vietnam visited the official Gelora 10 November stadium on the afternoon of July 17.

The opening match is always very important. A good result on the opening day will help the U.19 Vietnam team become much more confident. At the same time, the team of coach Hua Hien Vinh also needs to take advantage of the opportunity to accumulate points. Because in the second match, the U.19 Vietnam team will meet a very strong name, U.19 Australia, the team that will compete directly for a ticket to the semi-finals in Group B.

However, the task of winning all 3 points against Myanmar is predicted to not be easy for U.19 Vietnam. In every tournament, the first match is always difficult to play. Besides, U.19 Myanmar is considered a rather unpredictable opponent.

U.19 Vietnam has its only training session in Indonesia, before the opening match.

Before entering the 2024 Southeast Asian U.19 tournament, coach Hua Hien Vinh affirmed: "The Vietnam U.19 team has completed the preparation phase and is ready to enter the 2024 Southeast Asian U.19 Championship. I think that not only Vietnam U.19 but all teams coming here to participate in this tournament have the same goal of winning. Besides, we also want to learn more about the playing style of other teams, especially strong teams like Australia, Thailand, Indonesia or Malaysia. We will try our best in each match and try to get the best results."

Yesterday afternoon (July 17), the U.19 Vietnam team visited to get a better feel of the grass and playing space at Gelora 10 November Stadium. After that, Coach Hua Hien Vinh's team had their only training session before facing U.19 Myanmar tonight (July 18). Because they had completed the preparation work early, the coaching staff only gave a moderate training plan, mainly to help the players release their inertia and recover their physical condition. In addition, Coach Hua Hien Vinh and his colleagues also reinforced for the players some important content about tactics for the opening match.
