At the moment his "brainchild" appeared on the big screen, director Bui Thac Chuyen could not help but be moved. He hopes the project will be spread so that everyone can understand Cu Chi as he himself loved and wanted to understand this land. He expressed: "The war in Cu Chi gave me very special emotions. And it haunted me for 11 years. Our crew made this film with all our love for Cu Chi land in particular, and love for the country and people of Vietnam in general."

Tunnels: The Sun in the Dark recreates the life and fighting process of guerrillas in Cu Chi during the resistance war against the US. Through the work, the director repaints the fierce picture with the smell of smoke and bullets to send to the younger generation a slice of the "steel citadel" and also on behalf of the younger generation to send back to the heroic past the answer to the expectation: "Is peace beautiful?".
The film is invested by private capital and received support from the Ministry of National Defense; Ho Chi Minh City Command; Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Cu Chi District people. The film features actor Thai Hoa, Meritorious Artist Cao Minh, actor Quang Tuan, actress Ho Thu Anh, singer Diem Hang... The film is expected to be officially released on April 4, before that there will be early screenings on April 2 and 3.
