The virtual filtering process is the use of admission software to filter out candidates who have passed their higher admission wishes to other schools from the expected admission list that the school sends to the system.
This ensures that each candidate is only admitted to one option in the list of eligible candidates, according to the principle of prioritizing higher options.
At the same time, two virtual filtering groups in the North (chaired by Hanoi University of Science and Technology) and the South (chaired by Ho Chi Minh City National University) will carry out their own process to filter together with the system of the Ministry of Education and Training, in order to give the most accurate results.
The virtual filtering process of the Ministry of Education and Training consists of 6 times with specific times and methods as follows:
According to regulations, before 5:00 p.m. on August 17, schools will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system, review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results according to the general schedule. Schools will announce the first round of admission results before 5:00 p.m. on August 19.
This year, the general admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training recorded more than 733,000 candidates registering for admission (equivalent to 68.5% of the number of candidates taking the graduation exam), an increase of about 73,000 compared to last year.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, in nearly 400 training majors, divided into 24 fields, the 4 fields that attract the most candidates are: business and management, engineering and technology, computers, and pedagogy.
Four groups of majors saw a sharp increase in the number of applications for admission compared to last year, including: pedagogy (up 85%), natural sciences (up 61%), national security and defense (up 46.5%), and semiconductor design (up 30%).
Based on the high school graduation exam score distribution and the number of registered candidates, experts predict that this year's benchmark scores may increase in some majors.
