Provincial leaders attend the inauguration of the dialysis system in Huong Son

Delegates attended the handover ceremony and inauguration of the hemodialysis system at Huong Son Medical Center.

On the morning of April 10, Huong Son Medical Center coordinated with Ha Tinh Petroleum Company to organize the handover ceremony and inauguration of the artificial kidney dialysis system.

Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran The Dung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai, Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Lan Hieu - Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, leaders of the Department of Health and leaders of Huong Son district attended.

Ha Tinh Petroleum Company donated 11 artificial kidney dialysis machines worth 5 billion VND to Huong Son Medical Center.

In recent years, Huong Son Medical Center has actively mobilized social resources and continuously invested in equipment to improve the effectiveness of medical examination and treatment for local people. The total mobilized resources are worth more than 10 billion VND with modern medical examination and treatment equipment such as Fujifilm digestive endoscopy system, Pantax endoscopy system, 4-probe cardiovascular ultrasound system, etc.

Thanks to that, the number of patients coming for examination and treatment at 2 facilities of Huong Son District Medical Center is increasing. Specifically, in 2024, at facility 1 in Pho Chau town, the number of people coming for examination and treatment reached 110,000, an increase of 7.6% compared to 2023; the number of inpatients was 17,735, reaching 101% of the plan.

At facility 2 in Tay Son town, the total number of people coming for examination and treatment in 2024 reached 22,500, an increase of 68% compared to 2023; there were 4,850 inpatients, an increase of 64% compared to 2023, reaching 136% of the plan.

According to a survey, there are 130 patients with kidney disease in Huong Son district. However, the district medical center does not have a dialysis machine, so patients have to go to medical facilities in Vinh city (Nghe An), Ha Tinh General Hospital, and Duc Tho district medical center for treatment.

Through connections and appeals from Huong Son district, Ha Tinh Petroleum Company has supported 11 artificial kidney dialysis machines for the district Medical Center with a total value of 5 billion VND.

Associate Professor, Doctor Nguyen Lan Hieu - Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital: Putting 11 hemodialysis machines into operation at Huong Son District Medical Center not only reduces the load on medical facilities inside and outside the province and the Central level but also helps people save effort and costs when going to other facilities for medical examination and treatment.

To prepare for the operation and put the dialysis system into operation, Huong Son Medical Center sent 1 doctor and 3 nurses to the provincial general hospital for 6 months of training and 1 technician for 1 month of training at Bach Mai Hospital, Hanoi to ensure the best care for patients.

After the handover, Hanoi Medical University Hospital also sent 1 doctor and 1 technician to support the examination, treatment and operation of the hemodialysis system at Huong Son District Medical Center for 10 days. Currently, the center can provide hemodialysis services for 30 patients/day.

At the handover ceremony, Chairman of Huong Son District People's Committee Tran Binh Than expressed his deep gratitude for the support of Ha Tinh provincial leaders, hospitals, especially Ha Tinh Petroleum Company in always accompanying the locality to carry out well the work of health care for the people. The artificial kidney dialysis system not only improves the medical examination and treatment work in the locality but also helps reduce pressure on the upper level as well as save costs and efforts, helping patients feel secure during treatment.

Huong Son district leaders requested the district Medical Center to preserve and operate 11 artificial kidney dialysis machines well, meeting the expectations of the people, the trust of provincial leaders and sponsors.

Along with business activities, Ha Tinh Petroleum Company pays special attention to social security work in the province. From 2020 to present, the company has allocated a budget of 25 billion VND to support Ha Tinh province in implementing social security programs. In Huong Son district alone, the company has supported 7 billion VND, participating in the construction of 30 charity houses for poor households and policy households in the communes of Ham Truong, Chau Binh, Tan My Ha, Tay Son...; supporting funding to build many primary, secondary and high schools in the district.
