Ministry of Education and Training adds startup idea awards for vocational school students

The Ministry of Education and Training has just decided to adjust and supplement the rules of the 7th “Students with Startup Ideas” contest (SV_STARTUP). Accordingly, the contest rules have been updated with content related to the contestants being vocational school students.

Specifically, the contestants, in addition to students studying at universities, colleges of education, and high school students, now include students studying at vocational training institutions.

Vocational school students won prizes at a Startup Kite competition organized by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. From this year, vocational school students will participate in the start-up idea competition of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Therefore, at the basic round, vocational training institutions will organize the selection of applications to participate in the semi-finals of the Startup Kite competition in 2024 (including 2023 projects that continue to register to participate in the semi-finals of the 2024 competition), and at the same time take full responsibility for the results of the semi-finals of the competition.

It is known that Startup Kite is a startup idea competition for vocational education students organized by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs since 2020. In 2024, the competition will be held for the 5th time.

In the SV_STARTUP semi-final round, the Ministry of Education and Training added the following content: for vocational education institutions, the Ministry assigned the Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education to establish a jury and secretariat, selecting a maximum of 45 projects, 9 projects in each field, to participate in the final round.

Regarding awards, each field of competition in start-up projects of vocational education students (industry; agriculture, forestry, fishery; education, health, culture, tourism; financial services, banking; business creating social impact) has one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes and three consolation prizes.

Each award has a certificate of merit (first and second prizes) or a certificate (third and consolation prizes) from the Minister of Education and Training, a bonus according to regulations and investment opportunities from startup support funds.
